Moody’s Unveils Agentic AI Solutions to Revolutionize Financial Services

TLDR: Moody’s has launched “Agentic Solutions,” a new suite of AI tools designed to automate complex financial workflows and accelerate decision-making. These agentic AI systems move beyond traditional automation, acting autonomously to plan, execute, and adapt to tasks like credit risk assessment and portfolio monitoring, significantly reducing processing times and enhancing analytical depth.

Moody’s, a global leader in financial intelligence, has introduced its groundbreaking “Agentic Solutions,” marking a significant leap in the application of artificial intelligence within the financial services sector. This new suite of AI tools is poised to transform how organizations approach complex, high-stakes decision-making, shifting from passive assistance to active agency in critical financial tasks.

Agentic AI, unlike its traditional counterparts, is characterized by its ability to autonomously determine actions, plan multi-step workflows, and adapt to real-time data with minimal human intervention. These systems leverage advanced large language models, reinforcement learning, retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), and multi-agent frameworks to execute intricate tasks with unprecedented speed and precision.

According to a company statement released around September 16-17, 2025, Moody’s Agentic Solutions are built upon the firm’s extensive data estate, which encompasses over 590 million global entities. The platform features more than 50 prebuilt, domain-specific agents that can be configured for a wide array of functions, including credit assessment, portfolio monitoring, sales intelligence, and know-your-customer (KYC) screening.

Rob Fauber, President and CEO of Moody’s, emphasized the strategic importance of this development, stating, “Agentic Solutions is a natural extension of our legacy of investment and innovation – anchored in the strength of our industry leading data-estate and the depth of our people’s analytical skills. By integrating agentic capabilities into the workflows of our customers, we are supercharging the speed and precision at which we can help our customers understand risk and unlock opportunity.”

One of the most compelling demonstrations of this technology’s impact is its ability to drastically reduce the time required for credit memo preparation. VentureBeat reported a case study where Moody’s customers typically spent 40 hours or more on this process, bogged down by unstructured data and manual workflows. With Agentic Solutions, this preparation time was slashed to just two minutes, achieved by breaking down the task into specialized segments handled by different agents working in parallel. For instance, one agent verifies entities, another extracts data from filings, and others assess peer comparisons and risks.

Moody’s has also adopted a model-agnostic strategy, utilizing the most efficient tools for each specific task rather than relying on a single system. Crucially, all outputs from Agentic Solutions are described as auditable, transparently sourced, and backed by rigorous data governance, addressing the paramount need for accuracy and compliance in highly regulated environments. This makes the system particularly attractive to clients in financial services, real estate, and insurance.

The company, which operates in over 40 countries and employs approximately 16,000 people, views this launch as part of a broader initiative to integrate AI across its data and analytics product offerings. The agents are envisioned as “digital coworkers” that coordinate across high-value processes, enabling financial professionals to scale their expertise and respond to market dynamics with greater agility. This move by Moody’s highlights a growing trend across corporate America, with major players like Amazon and Zoom also investing heavily in agentic AI to enhance productivity and redefine operational frameworks.
