This credit card-sized device offers one-tap recording, accurate transcription in over 100 languages, professional summaries, and mind map generation, powered by its integrated AI agent, “Shadow.” It aims to act as a personal AI assistant for various professional and personal scenarios.
Mobvoi has officially introduced the TicNote, a groundbreaking AI-powered voice recorder and meeting notes application, positioning it as a personal AI agent for enhanced productivity. Launched around July 2025, this innovative device is designed to streamline the process of capturing, transcribing, and organizing spoken information.
The TicNote boasts a compact, credit card-sized form factor, measuring a mere 86x55x3 millimeters and weighing just 29 grams, making it highly portable. It features a matte, patterned front panel and includes a magnetic ring for MagSafe-style attachment to smartphones or other surfaces. The device offers 64GB of internal storage, capable of holding up to 25 hours of continuous recording, and also provides unlimited cloud storage for recordings, transcriptions, and summaries.
At the core of the TicNote’s capabilities is its integrated AI agent, “Shadow.” This advanced AI transforms the device from a simple recorder into a powerful analytical and organizational tool. Shadow is driven by sophisticated AI models, including GPT-4o, GPT-4o-mini, and DeepSeek-R1, enabling it to perform a wide array of functions. Users can expect accurate transcription in over 100 languages, professional summarization of content, and even mind map generation from recorded audio. Beyond basic transcription, Shadow can engage in “Deep Think” and “Deep Research” within the context of recorded files and projects, generate “Aha Moments” by connecting disparate information, and provide insights and answers in a chat-based manner. It can also generate reports, meeting minutes, and to-do lists, effectively acting as a study or work partner.
Operating the TicNote is intuitive, with one-tap recording initiated by holding down the power button, accompanied by haptic feedback. The device syncs with a dedicated app available for iOS and Android, as well as a web application, allowing users to manage audio files, sort them, and easily share recordings, transcriptions, and summaries. The app also displays battery level, storage usage, and allows for firmware updates and mic gain control.
While the app itself is free, the full suite of AI features operates on a subscription model. Users receive some free credits upon device purchase, with options to buy credit packs or opt for a yearly subscription, priced around $6 per month or $79 annually. Mobvoi also offered a promotional deal of three free months of the Pro Plan (1500 credits/month) for purchases made between April 15 and July 15, 2025. The device itself is priced around $159, though it may see sales during events like Prime Days.
