Miami’s AI Ecosystem Expands with New AI School and Tech Basel Summit Following eMerge Americas Acquisition of Miami AI Hub

TLDR: Miami’s artificial intelligence landscape is set for significant growth with the launch of the Miami AI School and the announcement of the Tech Basel Miami AI Summit. These initiatives follow the recent acquisition of Miami AI Hub by eMerge Americas, aiming to solidify Miami’s position as a global AI hub. The AI School, a hybrid program, will offer three phases of training, while the summit will gather AI experts and leaders.

Miami’s burgeoning artificial intelligence (AI) ecosystem is poised for a major expansion with the unveiling of the Miami AI School and the upcoming Tech Basel Miami AI Summit. These strategic initiatives are the direct result of a newly formalized partnership between eMerge Americas and Miami AI Hub, with eMerge Americas having recently acquired the Miami AI Hub and appointed its founder, Burhan Sebin, as eMerge’s first Chief AI Officer.

The collaboration was publicly launched on July 30, 2025, at ‘Generative Gatherings,’ an AI-focused event held at The LAB Miami, which drew over 200 founders, investors, and technologists. This event marked the first public demonstration of their combined efforts, featuring a fireside chat between eMerge Americas CEO Melissa Medina and Burhan Sebin. Medina highlighted that AI consistently ranks as a top area of interest in eMerge surveys, underscoring the demand for such initiatives. She stated, ‘We’re injecting Burhan’s AI knowledge to help our internal strategies and also expand our AI offerings to the community because we feel that AI is the next industrial revolution.’

One of the key new initiatives is the Miami AI School, a hybrid program designed to provide comprehensive training for founders, operators, and creatives. Set to launch in early September 2025, the school will operate quarterly in three distinct phases: ‘AI Essentials for Business,’ ‘AI Builder Toolkit,’ and ‘AI Agent Mastery.’ Each phase will culminate in participants presenting live demos and completing portfolio pieces and case studies. Applications for the inaugural session are open until August 8, 2025. The school aims to cater to a diverse audience, from non-technical small business owners looking to integrate AI into their operations to more technical individuals ready to build and deploy AI products and autonomous agents.

Further solidifying Miami’s role in the AI sector is the announcement of the Tech Basel Miami AI Summit. This full-day, curated experience is scheduled for December 3, 2025, at the Mayfair Hotel in Coconut Grove. The summit is designed for a select group of founders, researchers, policy leaders, and investors, promising keynotes from leading AI experts and hands-on workshops. The goal is to delve deeply into the future of AI, fostering innovation and collaboration within the global AI community. The summit will feature over 20 industry speakers and more than 10 interactive workshops, covering cutting-edge AI research, breakthroughs, and applications.
