TLDR: Mercedes-Benz has announced that its 2026 GLC EV will feature a groundbreaking ‘multi-agent’ AI system, integrating technologies from Microsoft and Google into its fourth-generation MBUX operating system. This advanced AI, part of the new MB.OS, promises highly personalized interactions, real-time decision-making, and an impressive electric range of approximately 440 miles (713 km WLTP).
Mercedes-Benz is set to redefine the automotive landscape with the introduction of its 2026 GLC EV, which will boast a pioneering ‘multi-agent’ artificial intelligence system. This innovative technology, unveiled ahead of IAA Mobility 2025 in Munich, Germany, marks a significant leap in in-car intelligence and personalized user experience. The electric GLC is slated to expand the Mercedes-Benz lineup starting in the first half of 2026, building on the success of the GLC, which has consistently been the brand’s global bestseller.
At the heart of this new electric SUV is the fourth generation of the MBUX infotainment system, which is the world’s first in-car system to seamlessly integrate AI from both Microsoft and Google. This ‘Multi Agent Approach’ allows the MBUX Virtual Assistant to leverage combined knowledge from across the internet, selecting the most relevant source for each task, even within a single conversation.
The AI-driven system is a core component of the Mercedes-Benz Operating System (MB.OS), described as a ‘superbrain’ that integrates and controls every aspect of the vehicle. From infotainment and automated driving to body comfort and charging, the AI enables the vehicle to learn driver preferences, adapt to changing conditions, and make real-time decisions for a safer and more intuitive journey. Interacting with the MBUX Virtual Assistant is designed to feel like chatting with a friend, capable of providing detailed responses and answering follow-up questions without requiring repeated context.
Beyond its advanced intelligence, the 2026 GLC EV is engineered for impressive electric performance. It is expected to offer an electric range of approximately 440 miles (713 km WLTP), powered by an 800V architecture and a 94 kWh battery. The vehicle will also support fast DC charging at up to 330 kW.
Inside, the GLC EV promises a luxurious and technologically rich environment. The extensive infotainment offering for the front passenger includes access to over 40 applications and video streaming capabilities. Other notable features include a Burmester 3D Sound System, Active Ambient Lighting, and a Starry SKY CONTROL Panoramic Roof adorned with 162 Illuminates Stars. The cabin will offer three interior color tones (Deep Black, Ivory Beige, Tagua Brown) and be upholstered in Nappa Leather. Designed electric-first, the new GLC EV also provides enhanced legroom and headroom compared to its conventionally powered siblings, alongside a substantial 2.4-tonne towing capacity.
