Lotte Group Unveils iMember 3.0 AI Platform to Revolutionize Workflows and Boost Efficiency

TLDR: Lotte Group has launched its iMember 3.0 AI platform, integrating LotteGTP with external tools to significantly enhance operational efficiency across its affiliates. The initiative, driven by Chairman Shin Dong-bin’s vision for AI internalization, also includes the establishment of an AI Ethics Charter. Key applications include an AI-based color prediction system for Lotte Chemical and the ‘Segment Lab’ for trend analysis at Lotte Members.

Seoul, South Korea – Lotte Group today announced the rollout of its advanced iMember 3.0 AI platform, a strategic move aimed at fundamentally transforming work processes and bolstering the conglomerate’s core competitiveness. The platform, which integrates LotteGTP with various external tools, is designed to drive substantial efficiency gains across all Lotte affiliates.

Chairman Shin Dong-bin has been a vocal proponent of this AI-driven transformation, emphasizing the critical need for the group to internalize artificial intelligence. In his New Year’s address, Chairman Shin stated, “As we enter the AI era, let us concentrate on internalizing AI to achieve meaningful results in creating business models and reducing costs.” This directive underscores the group’s commitment to leveraging AI for tangible business outcomes.

In line with this vision, Lotte recently hosted an ‘AI Task Showcase’ ahead of its first-half ‘VCM (Value Creation Meeting),’ presenting various AI innovation cases already being implemented within the group. Furthermore, to ensure responsible AI deployment, Lotte declared an AI Ethics Charter in May, setting clear ethical standards for all employees involved in AI development and application.

The iMember 3.0 platform is already demonstrating its impact through specialized AI services tailored to individual affiliates. For instance, Lotte Chemical has implemented an ‘AI-based color prediction system.’ This innovative system utilizes AI to rapidly identify desired plastic color combinations for customers, leading to improved development and production speeds and enhancing the technical capabilities of engineers.

Another notable application is found at Lotte Members, where the ‘Segment Lab’ AI service provides trend analysis for Lotte employees. This service automatically analyzes and predicts market trends by combining consumption data from L.POINT’s 43 million integrated membership program members with external data sources. The Segment Lab generates comprehensive reports, offering insights into segment trend analysis, trend sensing, and competitor trends, all powered by generative AI.
