LexisNexis Legal & Professional, a global leader in AI-powered legal analytics and decision tools, announced on July 20, 2025, the UK launch of LexisNexis Protégé™. This innovative personalized AI assistant is set to transform how legal professionals in the UK approach their daily tasks, offering advanced capabilities to improve efficiency and accuracy in legal work.
Protégé is engineered to intelligently support lawyers in critical areas such as drafting, legal research, and advising clients. By automating and streamlining these processes, the AI assistant enables legal practitioners to complete tasks faster and with greater precision, thereby freeing up valuable time to concentrate on more strategic and higher-value aspects of their work. Document Drafting: It can draft full, tailored transactional documents and is designed to self-check its work before human legal professionals conduct a final review. Documents can be further edited within Lexis+ AI or Microsoft Word.
Workflow Automation: Protégé suggests relevant legal workflow actions based on uploaded document types, such as drafting research notes or summarizing content, and dynamically generates personalized follow-up prompts.
Query Refinement: It provides proactive assistance by suggesting refinements to user queries, helping lawyers achieve their objectives more efficiently.
Secure Document Management: Users can securely store tens of thousands of legal documents in a dedicated ‘Vault,’ on which numerous AI tasks like summarization, drafting, and research can be performed.
Timeline Generation: The assistant can generate graphical timelines of events directly from uploaded documents.

Protégé can also be tailored to individual users through integration with Document Management Systems (DMS), enabling users to raise queries, extract clauses, and draft documents directly from their firm’s or organization’s knowledge base. While the UK launch is recent, Protégé has been live in the U.S. market since January of this year.
