Lenovo Powers Inaugural Smart Asian Winter Games with Advanced AI Solutions and Devices

TLDR: Lenovo deployed over 2,000 AI-enabled devices and advanced AI solutions, including the pioneering Baiying AI Agent, to facilitate the first “Smart Asian Winter Games” in Harbin and Yabuli in February 2025. These technologies streamlined data management, enhanced fan experiences, and supported the event’s sustainability goals.

Lenovo played a pivotal role in bringing the vision of the first “Smart Asian Winter Games” to fruition, deploying a comprehensive suite of AI solutions and devices for the event held in Harbin and Yabuli in February 2025. The Games, which hosted over 1,500 athletes from 34 countries, aimed to integrate cutting-edge technology to enhance both operational efficiency and the overall experience for participants and spectators alike.

More than 2,000 Lenovo AI-enabled devices, including ThinkPad laptops, ThinkCentre desktops, and Legion gaming devices, were strategically deployed across the joint venues. These devices were instrumental in supporting critical functions such as data collection and transmission, ensuring seamless synchronization of timings, event organization, and broadcast logistics across venues separated by hundreds of kilometers and mountainous terrain. A notable innovation was the pioneering use of AI agents at a snow and ice event, with Lenovo’s new Baiying AI Agent adapted from its enterprise IT management origins to support the Games’ operations.

Linda Yao, VP and GM of Hybrid Cloud & AI Solutions at Lenovo, emphasized the transformative impact of AI, stating, “AI has been key to simplifying operations and boosting the audience experience at the 9th Asian Winter Games.” The integration of AI not only streamlined real-time data management but also significantly enhanced fan engagement through interactive experiences.

Following the event, all equipment underwent strict data removal protocols and was responsibly recycled or repurposed to maximize energy efficiency and contribute to carbon reduction goals. Zhang Qiong noted that “Lenovo’s solutions perfectly align with the sustainability aims of the Asian Winter Games, strongly supporting us in achieving the goal of hosting the Games and demonstrating the company’s commitment to reducing environmental impact.” This comprehensive approach highlights how AI and advanced technology can revolutionize large-scale events, offering a blueprint for future endeavors in sports and beyond.
