LAS VEGAS – Oracle co-founder Larry Ellison, speaking at the company’s global annual showcase, Oracle AI World, on October 15, 2025, articulated a clear vision for Artificial Intelligence: it is an ‘incredible tool’ meant to augment human capabilities, not to supplant them. Ellison dismissed the notion that AI would replace human beings and their endeavors, stating, ‘I don’t think that’s true.’
Ellison likened AI models to ‘remarkable electronic brains’ capable of tackling humanity’s most significant and challenging problems. He underscored AI’s potential to empower individuals across a wide spectrum of professions, including scientists, surgeons, engineers, and teachers. The integration of AI, he believes, will enable these professionals to achieve unprecedented levels of precision, creativity, and efficiency in their work. ‘It will make us much better scientists and engineers and teachers and chefs and surgeons… We’ve never built a tool anything like this,’ Ellison observed.
Oracle CEO Mike Sicilia further elaborated on the transformative impact of AI, describing it as a ‘once-in-a-generation’ moment that is fundamentally reshaping global businesses. Sicilia emphasized that AI is not merely about technological change or new features, but rather about revolutionizing how business is conducted across all sectors. ‘It changes how you serve customers, find the best talent, save money, how you accelerate productivity and innovate, and beyond…all of us are right at the centre of this amazing revolution,’ Sicilia stated during his keynote address at Oracle AI World.
