In a significant advancement for artificial intelligence development, Langflow, a powerful tool for building and deploying AI agents, is now enabling the creation of local AI agents directly on NVIDIA RTX PCs. This capability is bolstered by NVIDIA’s latest hardware and software innovations, including the new GeForce RTX 50 Series GPUs and NVIDIA NIM microservices.
NVIDIA, at CES 2025 in January, unveiled its strategy to bring foundation models to run locally on NVIDIA RTX AI PCs. These models, offered as NVIDIA NIM microservices, are significantly accelerated by the new GeForce RTX 50 Series GPUs, which boast up to 3,352 trillion operations per second (TOPS) of AI performance and 32GB of VRAM. Built on the NVIDIA Blackwell architecture, these consumer GPUs are the first to support FP4 compute, effectively doubling AI inference performance and allowing generative AI models to run locally with a smaller memory footprint compared to previous generations. Jensen Huang, founder and CEO of NVIDIA, emphasized the importance of this development, stating, ‘AI is advancing at light speed, from perception AI to generative AI and now agentic AI. NIM microservices and AI Blueprints give PC developers and enthusiasts the building blocks to explore the magic of AI.’
Langflow is among a new wave of low-code and no-code tools, including AnythingLLM, ComfyUI, and LM Studio, that empower enthusiasts to integrate AI models into complex workflows using intuitive graphical user interfaces. The compatibility of NVIDIA NIM microservices with leading AI development and agent frameworks, such as Langflow, allows developers to connect applications and workflows to AI models running NIM microservices via industry-standard endpoints. This creates a unified interface across various computing environments, from cloud to PCs.
Further enhancing its capabilities, Langflow introduced new features during its ‘Launch Week’ starting March 31, 2025. A key highlight was the support for Model Context Protocol (MCP), both as a client and a server. MCP is a new standard for agentic communication, enabling agents to call tools from other servers or share their own flows and tools with external systems. This fosters agent-to-agent collaboration, decentralized tools, and fully modular AI systems. The ‘Launch Week’ also promised a ‘special treat for fans of local-first development,’ aligning with the local AI agent creation on RTX PCs.
