This initiative addresses the constantly evolving landscape of cybersecurity threats, enabling the company to predict and respond to advanced attacks, including sophisticated zero-day exploits, with greater speed and scalability.
Harish Soni, Resiliency and Security Practice Leader at Kyndryl India, highlighted the transformative potential of AI in detecting and responding to cyber threats. To fully leverage these benefits, Kyndryl is streamlining its IT environment by reducing complexity, consolidating tools, and building a robust data platform. This platform is crucial for effective AI model training and enhancing overall cyber defense.
A key component of Kyndryl’s strategy is “Kyndryl Bridge,” an open integration platform that utilizes operational data, intellectual property, and embedded AI to provide extensive observability across an enterprise’s IT estate. This platform currently serves over 1,200 enterprises and generates more than 12 million AI-driven insights monthly.
Responsible AI usage is a cornerstone of Kyndryl’s approach. The company has established an AI Governance Committee to oversee internal policies and procedures, ensuring that AI solutions adhere to principles of trust, privacy, ethics, and compliance. Kyndryl also employs a “customer zero” policy, where solutions are rigorously tested and refined internally before being deployed to clients.
Building a resilient, AI-enabled cybersecurity ecosystem necessitates a simplified architecture, tool consolidation, and a highly skilled workforce. In line with this, Kyndryl is undertaking a substantial $2.25 billion investment over three years. Kyndryl’s cybersecurity framework leverages AI and machine learning for real-time threat prediction and anomaly identification. This is complemented by Attack Surface Management, which continuously identifies, assesses, and reduces potential entry points across various environments, including networks, applications, cloud infrastructure, endpoints, and human factors. The integration of a Zero Trust framework further enhances security by verifying every access request, ensuring secure, transparent, and trustworthy AI-powered solutions.
Beyond internal enhancements, Kyndryl offers a structured framework to help organizations evaluate and strengthen their AI governance, aligning with regulatory requirements and industry standards like ISO/IEC 42001 and NIST. This includes risk assessment, continuous monitoring, red teaming (simulating cyberattacks to find AI vulnerabilities), and AI monitoring and observability for real-time oversight of AI models and data pipelines.
A Kyndryl AI Readiness Report 2025, published in July 2025, revealed that while 95% of organizations have invested in AI, only 29% feel prepared for future risks. The report emphasizes the need for real AI governance, cybersecurity education, and zero-trust architectures. It also highlights a disconnect in leadership, with 45% of CEOs perceiving employee resistance to AI, while 73% of CTOs and CIOs report enthusiasm. Only 14% of organizations are considered “AI Pacesetters” who effectively align workforce strategies with AI adoption.
