Knowledge Networks and AI for Good Unite to Advance Global AI Governance Dialogue

TLDR: Knowledge Networks has partnered with the AI for Good Global Summit to amplify discussions on responsible artificial intelligence development and governance. This collaboration, highlighted at the recent Geneva summit, focused on ethical AI standards, human-centric design, and equitable access, aiming to bridge the gap between rapid technological advancements and policy frameworks.

Knowledge Networks, a U.S.-based organization dedicated to democratizing AI knowledge and influencing policy, has announced a significant partnership with the AI for Good Global Summit. This collaboration aims to deepen global conversations surrounding the responsible development and governance of artificial intelligence, specifically extending the reach of Knowledge Networks’ ‘RegulatingAI’ initiative.

The partnership culminated in a series of expert-led dialogues and multimedia content, including podcast episodes and digital roundtables, during the AI for Good Global Summit. The summit, a United Nations platform focused on aligning AI innovation with sustainable development goals, was held from July 8–11 in Geneva, Switzerland.

The core objective of this alliance is to amplify diverse voices shaping the future of AI policy and governance. Key topics addressed included the establishment of ethical standards for AI, the importance of human-in-the-loop system design, and ensuring equitable access to AI technologies across emerging economies. Knowledge Networks’ mission is to bridge the existing gaps between fast-moving technological advancements and the often slower-paced policy frameworks that struggle to keep pace.

Sanjay Puri, founder and chairman of Knowledge Networks, emphasized the urgency of the matter, stating, “AI is no longer a future concept—it is the present reality that demands urgent and inclusive governance. Through our partnership with AI for Good, we’re fostering the kind of global, cross-sector dialogue needed to ensure AI serves humanity—not just efficiently, but ethically.”

Frederic Werner, Head of Strategic Engagement at the International Telecommunication Union (ITU), which leads the AI for Good Global Summit, lauded the collaboration. “At ITU, we deeply value partners like Knowledge Networks who bring together visionary voices and foster dialogue at the intersection of technology, ethics, and global policy. Their RegulatingAI series reflects our shared commitment to ensuring that AI development remains inclusive, transparent, and anchored in the public good,” Werner commented.

The summit featured an impressive lineup of leaders and innovators from various sectors, including Eric Loeb, EVP, Global Government Affairs at Salesforce; Dr. David A. Sinclair, Professor at Harvard University; Dr. Kathleen Kramer, Professor and IEEE President; Hovig Etyemezian, Head of Innovation at UNHCR; Nicholas Thompson, CEO of The Atlantic; and Dr. Bilel Jamoussi. Discussions also included global health leaders such as Peter Sands (Executive Director, The Global Fund) and Sania Nishtar (CEO, Gavi).
