NAIROBI, Kenya – The Marketing Society of Kenya (MSK) officially opened entries for its prestigious 2025 Awards Gala on Friday, October 24, 2025, with a strong call for industry players to embrace Artificial Intelligence (AI) as a crucial driver of creativity and competitiveness. The highly anticipated event, themed ‘Celebrating Innovation. Inspiring Excellence.’, is set to culminate on November 28, 2025, in Mombasa, bringing together Kenya’s leading brands, marketing agencies, media houses, and thought leaders.
During the official launch held in Nairobi, MSK Chairperson Zuhura Odhiambo underscored the transformative power of AI in the global marketing landscape. She challenged Kenyan brands, agencies, and media houses to adapt to these technological advancements or risk being left behind. “Today, we invite all brands, media houses, and marketing agencies to embrace this journey. With the proper use of AI, this year’s awards should be the best yet,” Odhiambo stated.
Odhiambo emphasized that AI should be viewed as an enhancer, not a threat to employment. “AI is not here to take away your jobs. Let us use it to enhance marketing and drive economic growth,” she asserted. The 2025 awards aim to honor bold ideas and transformative strategies that are redefining Kenya’s marketing landscape, celebrating not just campaigns, but ‘catalysts of change.’
The MSK Awards Gala remains Kenya’s premier platform for recognizing marketing excellence, setting the tone for an industry increasingly shaped by AI, sustainability, and youth empowerment. Odhiambo also commended Absa Bank, the overall winner of the 2024 awards, for delivering impactful campaigns that not only elevated their brand but also created employment opportunities for young people through technology.
Dr. Gilda Odera, President of the Federation of Kenya Employers (FKE) and one of the judges for this year’s awards, delivered the keynote address on the theme ‘Business Innovation and National Development.’ She highlighted marketing’s broader role, stating, “Marketing is more than advertising — it is a catalyst for innovation. It connects value creation with value exchange, and in that exchange lies economic progress.” Dr. Odera also stressed the importance of sustainable marketing practices in an era of rapid global transformation and rising youth unemployment.
