Bengaluru, Karnataka – August 20, 2025 – The Karnataka government has officially commenced the 22nd round of applications for its highly acclaimed flagship startup grant programme, ‘Elevate’. This strategic move reinforces the state’s commitment to nurturing its vibrant startup ecosystem and fostering innovation across various sectors. Online applications for this round opened on August 15.
Under the Elevate programme, eligible startups can secure a substantial one-time grant of up to ₹50 lakh. This crucial financial injection is designed to empower entrepreneurs in critical stages of development, enabling them to build robust prototypes, develop compelling proof of concepts, and effectively scale their businesses through technological advancements. The initiative extends beyond mere funding, offering a comprehensive platform that includes access to invaluable mentoring, state-of-the-art incubation facilities, and extensive networking opportunities.
Minister for Electronics, IT, and BT, Priyank Kharge, emphasized the broader vision behind the programme during a press conference. “ELEVATE is more than a funding scheme; it is a structured platform that empowers startups to move from idea to impact,” stated Minister Kharge. He further added, “With each call, we reaffirm Karnataka’s leadership in the startup ecosystem. We are not just supporting innovation, but structuring it, scaling it, and democratising it.” The Minister highlighted that the system is built to be fair and accountable, ensuring equitable opportunities for innovators across the state.
In addition to direct grants, the Elevate scheme serves as a gateway for startups to avail various benefits outlined in the Karnataka Startup Policy 2022–27. These include crucial incentive reimbursements for patent costs, marketing expenses, Goods and Services Tax (GST), and quality certification costs. Startups also gain incubation support through government-backed sector-specific Centers of Excellence (CoEs) and Technology Business Incubators (TBIs) located throughout Karnataka.
Demonstrating its commitment to inclusive growth, the programme also features dedicated social inclusion initiatives: ‘Elevate Unnati’ and ‘Elevate Minorities’. These special programmes allocate significant grants specifically to promote and support entrepreneurs from Scheduled Caste/Scheduled Tribe (SC/ST) and minority communities, ensuring a diverse and equitable startup landscape.
