July 2025 Sees Significant Capital Inflow for US Startups

July 2025 proved to be a dynamic month for US startup funding, with AlleyWatch’s latest report detailing the eleven most substantial capital raises. The analysis, drawing on data from CrunchBase, provides a comprehensive look at the top investments, including insights into industry sectors, company descriptions, funding round types, founders, and total equity funding to date.

Leading the charge in the artificial intelligence sector, Perplexity, a San Francisco-based AI-powered answer engine, secured a significant $100.0 million in a Venture round. Founded in 2022 by Andy Konwinski, Aravind Srinivas, Denis Yarats, and Johnny Ho, Perplexity has now amassed a total of $1.3 billion in equity funding. This round saw participation from prominent investors including IVP, New Enterprise Associates, NVIDIA, and SoftBank Vision Fund, underscoring strong belief in its generative AI, machine learning, and natural language processing capabilities.

Another notable AI firm, Sunnyvale-based Reka AI, an AI research and product company focused on multimodal AI solutions and generative AI models, raised $110.0 million in a Series B round. Established in 2022 by Cyprien de Masson d’Autume, Dani Yogatama, Mikel Artetxe, Qi Liu, and Yi Tay, Reka AI’s total equity funding now stands at $170.0 million, with NVIDIA, Snowflake, Radical Ventures, DST Global, and Snowflake Ventures among its key investors.

Beyond AI, the fintech space also saw considerable activity. Bilt Rewards, a New York-based payments and commerce network enabling users to earn points on rent and HOA payments, closed a $250.0 million Venture round. Founded in 2021 by Ankur Jain and David Wyler, Bilt Rewards has accumulated $813.3 million in total equity funding, backed by investors such as General Catalyst, Wells Fargo, Fifth Wall, United Wholesale Mortgage, and Eldridge Industries.

Other companies securing substantial investments in July 2025 include:

Substack: The San Francisco-based subscription-based newsletter publishing platform raised $100.0 million in a Series C round, bringing its total equity funding to $200.2 million.

Harmonic: Secured $100.0 million in a Series B round.

Oxide Computer Company: Also raised $100.0 million in a Series B round.

Fal: Closed a $125.0 million Series C round.

Armada: Received $131.0 million in a Venture round.

Anaconda: Raised $150.0 million in a Series C round.

Motive: Secured $150.0 million in a Venture round.

Vanta: Closed a $150.0 million Series D round.

MaintainX: Also raised $150.0 million in a Series D round.

Observe: Received $156.0 million in a Series C round.

Varda: Secured $187.0 million in a Series C round.

OpenEvidence: Raised $210.0 million in a Series B round.

Ambience Healthcare: Closed a $243.0 million Series C round.

Replit: Received $250.0 million in a Series C round.

Ramp: A significant $500.0 million round was also noted.
