TLDR: London jeweller Jessica McCormack has launched an innovative bridal campaign for her signature engagement rings, leveraging generative AI in collaboration with creative studio Gravity Road. The campaign features surrealist films where diamond rings emerge from unexpected natural forms, showcasing a blend of traditional craftsmanship and cutting-edge technology.
London, UK – Renowned London jeweller Jessica McCormack has embarked on a groundbreaking bridal campaign, integrating advanced artificial intelligence to showcase her exquisite collection of signature JM engagement rings. The initiative sees McCormack partnering with creative studio Gravity Road, which has been officially appointed as the brand’s Gen AI agency of record.
The campaign’s core revolves around a series of short, luxurious films that redefine the traditional ‘ring reveal’ through a surrealist lens. These visually stunning films are almost entirely generated by AI, with the exception of the meticulously handcrafted diamond jewellery itself. The creative concept involves diamond rings emerging from unconventional natural elements such as oysters, garlic, and blooming flowers, each unfolding to dramatically present the ring within.
The technological backbone of this innovative campaign is Brandtech’s Gen AI marketing platform, Pencil, complemented by other generative AI tools like Kling. Gravity Road utilized these platforms to transform high-resolution stills of each ring into immersive, animated scenes, effectively turning the ordinary into the abstract.
The inaugural film, already launched, features a magnificent Georgian Loop Ring – boasting a 9.33-carat oval-cut VVS1 diamond in E colour, set in 18K white and yellow gold – gracefully unfolding from an oyster before morphing into a delicate flower. Two additional films are slated for release in the coming months, promising further imaginative displays.
Jessica McCormack expressed her enthusiasm for the collaboration, stating, “Working with Gravity Road has been really inspiring. We use a lot of traditional techniques in our jewellery making, and to see our hand-crafted pieces come to life in this super innovative, interesting way has been really exciting.”
Mark Boyd, Co-Founder of Gravity Road, highlighted the agency’s commitment to pushing creative boundaries with AI. “We’re always looking to push the boundaries of what is possible with Gen AI: moving from the ordinary to the extraordinary,” Boyd commented. He added, “Luxury brands warrant this kind of high-end craft. As the AI continues to evolve, we’re able to tell more intricate stories, bringing together classic and contemporary facets of the brand. The films are 100% Gen AI except the diamond. These can never be replicated.” Matt Verity, Deputy ECD at Gravity Road, further elaborated on the technical prowess, noting, “This really did push the very edge of generative creativity using tools including Brandtech’s Pencil, which provided exceptional fidelity for rendering diamond textures, light play and composition, also utilising other platforms like Kling.”
