TLDR: Interpublic Group (IPG) has launched a groundbreaking “Simulation Studio” utilizing advanced “agents-based” research from AI startup Aaru. This innovative platform is designed to simulate human responses to advertising campaigns and other scenarios with unprecedented speed and accuracy, allowing for the measurement of ad impact before campaigns are even launched.
Interpublic Group (IPG) has announced the introduction of its new “Simulation Studio,” a pioneering initiative aimed at revolutionizing how advertising campaigns are evaluated. Unveiled on August 11, 2025, this studio leverages cutting-edge “agents-based” research technology developed by the AI startup Aaru, enabling IPG to simulate human responses to various scenarios, including advertising campaigns, with remarkable speed and precision.
The core of the Simulation Studio lies in Aaru’s technology, which creates “whole world simulations using agents that mirror humans beyond simple demographics, including character traits, likes and dislikes, behavioral and social habits, relationship status and more,” according to an Interpublic spokesperson. This advanced methodology allows for the scaling of simulated agents from small, focus group-like settings to large-scale panels that can be projected to segments of the population, offering a comprehensive and nuanced understanding of potential audience reactions.
IPG views this collaboration with Aaru as a “first-of-its-kind” deal within the advertising industry. While the technology is not exclusive to IPG, the holding company has secured a significant first-mover advantage. This includes exclusive benefits such as input on new features and product design, as well as the integration of proprietary consumer data from Interpublic’s Acxiom unit. This strategic move positions IPG at the forefront of predictive advertising analytics.

The integration of this advanced AI-powered tech into Omnicom’s existing impressive AI stack is expected to further enhance the combined entity’s capabilities in the evolving advertising landscape. The deal with Aaru provides immediate access to and integration with three established products capable of simulating human responses in private sector, political, and public sector decision-making. Furthermore, it facilitates the development of new, custom versions specifically tailored to meet the unique needs of advertising, marketing, and media for Interpublic and its clients.
