Intuit Accelerates Agentic AI Development with Significant GenOS Advancements

TLDR: Intuit Inc. is rapidly advancing its proprietary Generative AI Operating System (GenOS) to scale the development of ‘done-for-you’ agentic AI experiences across its financial technology platform. These advancements, including custom-trained financial LLMs and an enhanced Agent Starter Kit, are empowering thousands of Intuit developers to create autonomous AI agents that automate complex tasks, improve accuracy, and reduce operational costs for approximately 100 million consumers, businesses, and accountants. Early results show significant improvements in accuracy and latency for accounting workflows, with new AI agents for various financial tasks rolling out soon.

Intuit Inc. (Nasdaq: INTU), the global financial technology platform behind TurboTax, Credit Karma, QuickBooks, and Mailchimp, has announced significant advancements to its proprietary Generative AI Operating System (GenOS). These rapid developments are designed to accelerate the creation and deployment of ‘done-for-you’ agentic AI experiences at scale, aiming to enhance financial success for its vast customer base of approximately 100 million consumers, businesses, and accountants.

The company’s strategy centers on ‘agentic AI’ – intelligent systems capable of planning, reasoning, and autonomously executing complex tasks while maintaining user control. GenOS serves as the core, powering specialized agents such as the Finance Agent, Accounting Agent, Payroll Agent, and Project Management Agent. These agents are envisioned as ‘intelligent business partners’ that streamline workflows previously requiring extensive manual labor.

Key enhancements to GenOS include the introduction of new custom-trained Financial Intuit Large Language Models (LLMs). These LLMs are fine-tuned on extensive financial datasets, delivering personalized experiences with high accuracy and superior performance in terms of latency and cost. Early results from these models demonstrate a 5% improvement in accuracy and a 50% reduction in latency for certain accounting workflows, compared to general-purpose off-the-shelf LLMs. This also indicates promising potential for significant cost reductions.

Alex Balazs, Executive Vice President and Chief Technology Officer at Intuit, stated, ‘With this major agentic AI release of our proprietary GenOS, we’re supercharging the power of data, AI, and human intelligence on our platform to fuel consumer and business success through transformative done-for-you experiences.’ He added, ‘Over the past six months, our foundational platform assets and robust operating system have given us a tremendous advantage at this agentic AI moment—for Intuit developers and customers alike.’

Intuit’s commitment to agentic AI is further evidenced by its robust developer ecosystem. Thousands of Intuit developers are actively utilizing ready-to-use components in an enhanced Agent Starter Kit to build, test, and optimize AI agent experiences. This kit includes frameworks for monitoring and measuring agent performance, equipping developers with a toolchain for continuous improvement. During a recent weeklong Global Engineering Days hack-a-thon, over 900 technologists downloaded the kit, leading to hundreds of AI agents being built for various customer use cases within just five weeks.

Applications of these agentic AI capabilities are already emerging. For instance, QuickBooks Online for larger and growing businesses will feature AI agents to manage complex tasks and boost productivity. Some agents, such as the Payroll Agent and Project Management Agent, have already entered beta. AI agents are also automating accounts receivable and payable processes in QuickBooks Online and converting U.S. and state tax code updates into TurboTax for the 2025 tax year, with human experts reviewing these updates for the 2026 tax season.

Furthermore, GenOS now features integrated ‘expert-in-the-loop’ capabilities within GenUX, seamlessly connecting human experts with AI agents in complex workflows. This ensures complete customer confidence by providing a path to human assistance whenever needed. Swami Sivasubramanian, Vice President of Agentic AI at AWS, commented, ‘At AWS, we believe agentic AI will change how organizations operate and collaborate across industries. Together, we are committed to delivering tangible business value through enhanced workplace productivity and continued innovation.’

AI automation contributed to a 60% reduction in manual work. Looking ahead, 2026 guidance projects $21 billion in revenue and 14-15% non-GAAP EPS growth, driven by mid-market expansion and cross-selling synergies, despite significant R&D investments in AI. Intuit is also a member of the U.S. Artificial Intelligence Safety Institute Consortium, underscoring its commitment to responsible AI and data stewardship.
