TLDR: INSEAD, the renowned business school, has unveiled Botipedia, an artificial intelligence-powered encyclopedic knowledge portal. Launched on November 5, 2025, this platform is designed to be the world’s largest, boasting an astonishing 400 billion entries across more than 100 languages, making it 6,000 times larger than Wikipedia. Botipedia aims to combat misinformation by providing verifiable, data-grounded content with full provenance, leveraging proprietary AI to avoid biases and hallucinations.
FONTAINEBLEAU, France, SINGAPORE, and SAN FRANCISCO – November 5, 2025 – INSEAD, ‘The Business School for the World,’ today announced the groundbreaking launch of Botipedia, an ambitious AI-powered encyclopedic knowledge portal. Unveiled at the INSEAD AI Forum in Singapore and the AI Forum Americas in San Francisco, Botipedia is poised to redefine global information access and set a new benchmark for data quality and multilingual inclusivity.
Botipedia distinguishes itself by its sheer scale and its commitment to factual accuracy. The platform claims to be an astounding 6,000 times larger than Wikipedia, generating over 400 billion entries in more than 100 languages. In contrast, Wikipedia currently hosts approximately 64 million English articles. This monumental undertaking aims to democratize information on an unprecedented scale, bridging critical knowledge gaps, particularly for underserved linguistic communities worldwide.
At the core of Botipedia’s revolutionary capabilities is its proprietary AI technique: Dynamic Multi-method Generation (DMG). Developed by Professor Phil Parker, INSEAD Chaired Professor of Management Science and a pioneer in generative AI, DMG employs hundreds of sophisticated algorithms. Unlike many contemporary Large Language Models (LLMs) that often rely on probabilistic pattern matching, Botipedia’s AI customizes its generation methods for different types of output. Every entry is processed by DMG, backed by unique datasets comprising a vast curated library of archives and satellite feeds, ensuring high-quality, verifiable data. The platform directly quotes reliable sources or fully generates original content using natural language generation techniques specifically designed to avoid hallucination or intrinsic biases.
Professor Phil Parker emphasized the platform’s core mission, stating, “We are creating Botipedia to provide everyone with equal access to information, with no language left behind. We focus on content grounded in data and sources with full provenance, allowing the user to see as many perspectives as possible, as opposed to one potentially biased source.” This approach ensures that no subject, event, language, or geography is too obscure to merit an article.
Lily Fang, Dean of Research and Innovation at INSEAD, highlighted Botipedia’s broader strategic importance. “Botipedia is one of many initiatives of the Human and Machine Intelligence Institute (HUMII) that we are establishing at INSEAD,” she noted. “It is a practical application that builds on INSEAD-linked IP to help people make better decisions with knowledge powered by technology. We want technologies that enhance the quality and meaning of our work and life, to retain human agency and value in the age of intelligence.”

Currently, Botipedia is accessible via invitation only, with full public access anticipated in the near future. Its launch marks a pivotal moment in the AI landscape, signaling a critical shift towards verifiable, ethical, and universally accessible artificial intelligence. The platform directly confronts pervasive challenges of factual accuracy and bias in AI, setting a new, elevated standard for AI-generated content. This initiative is expected to send ripples through the entire AI industry, creating both challenges and opportunities for established tech giants and nimble startups alike, pushing them to enhance their own grounding mechanisms and verification processes. Beyond its encyclopedic function, the principles of Botipedia’s ‘truth-seeking AI’ are expected to extend into specialized, high-value domains, including enhanced content creation, driving global knowledge equity, personalized and private search, specialized data generation for industries like agriculture and public services, and providing unbiased strategic business intelligence.
