This invitation highlights India’s increasing focus on the ethical development and broader societal implications of artificial intelligence.
During the session, Prime Minister Modi articulated India’s perspective on AI, stating that the nation perceives it as a powerful instrument to augment human values and capabilities. He underscored the necessity of a balanced approach to AI governance, advocating for equal emphasis on addressing concerns and fostering innovation within the field. Modi urged for collaborative efforts towards achieving “Responsible AI,” stressing the importance of international cooperation in this swiftly evolving technological landscape.
India’s dedication to harnessing AI for widespread benefit was further emphasized by PM Modi, who noted that the country is actively and extensively deploying AI across diverse sectors such as agriculture, health, governance, and education, guided by the principle of “AI for All.” He also put forth the idea of establishing a BRICS Science and Research Repository to facilitate knowledge exchange and extend the advantages of technological collaborations to other developing nations.

Modi stressed the importance of BRICS reforming its internal systems to bolster its credibility as a proponent for global change. Additionally, he called for a demand-driven approach and long-term financial sustainability in projects undertaken by the BRICS New Development Bank (NDB).
