New Delhi – The Indian Institute of Technology Delhi (IIT Delhi) has announced the launch of its comprehensive six-month executive certificate program in Generative AI, designed to empower working professionals and senior leaders with cutting-edge expertise in the rapidly evolving field of artificial intelligence. This initiative, offered through IIT Delhi’s Continuing Education Programme (CEP), addresses the escalating demand for skilled professionals capable of driving innovation and digital transformation across various industries.
The program, which is reportedly in its second edition, is tailored for a diverse group of professionals, including those in software development, data science, machine learning, digital product management, applied research, and even educators looking to transition into innovative AI applications. It aims to provide a robust foundation in AI, Machine Learning (ML), and Generative AI, with a specific emphasis on engineering design and digital manufacturing.
Participants will delve into essential concepts such as Large Language Models (LLMs), Natural Language Processing (NLP), transformer architectures, neural network training, and responsible AI practices. The curriculum also covers advanced techniques like prompt engineering, model fine-tuning, Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG), and Reinforcement Learning with Human Feedback (RLHF). Students will gain hands-on experience with industry-standard tools including Python, NumPy, TensorFlow, PyTorch, spaCy, and Hugging Face, applying these to real-world problems through practical tutorials and a mandatory 10-hour capstone project.
The program structure combines 60 hours of live, interactive online sessions led by IIT Delhi faculty and experts with flexible, self-paced learning modules. An optional one-day campus immersion at IIT Delhi is also available, offering participants an opportunity to experience the institute’s academic and research environment firsthand. Upon successful completion, learners will be awarded an e-certificate by IIT Delhi CEP.
Professor Tanmoy Chakraborty, Associate Professor in the Department of Electrical Engineering at IIT Delhi, underscored the significance of the program. He stated, “This program is a result of our conviction that Generative AI will drive innovation and decision-making in the future. We aim to develop professionals who do not merely understand AI, but are equipped to architect the frameworks through which it will shape industries and society.”

With an application deadline of September 20, 2025, and a program start date of September 27, 2025, the course carries a fee of ₹1,69,000 plus taxes.
