TLDR: North Texas-based Humancore has officially launched its “Multiplayer AI Advisor” platform, backed by $4 million in pre-seed funding. This AI-powered tool aims to provide managers with personalized, real-time guidance by understanding both the manager and their team dynamics, moving beyond generic AI prompts and traditional coaching methods.
Plano-based startup Humancore, founded in January 2024, has announced the launch of its “Multiplayer AI Advisor” platform, a groundbreaking capability designed to enhance clarity, adaptability, and impact for managers. The company has successfully secured $4 million in pre-seed funding, with Northfield, Illinois-based Old Willow Partners leading the investment.
Unlike traditional coaching or generalized AI prompts, Humancore’s multiplayer technology is engineered to understand not only the manager but also their team. This allows the platform to deliver real-time, expert-backed guidance that is specifically tuned to the relationships, roles, and contextual factors influencing day-to-day performance.
Mike Dolen, Co-Founder and CEO of Humancore, emphasized the relational nature of leadership, stating, “Leadership is inherently relational, and great managers flex their approach based on who they are leading. That’s what Humancore was built to support.” He added that “Multiplayer helps managers take better action, faster. This technology is backed by behavioral science, personalized to them and their team and aligned to their company’s unique strategy and culture.”
The platform is built for scalability across mid-market and enterprise organizations. Humancore’s head of product, Lahti, highlighted that while generative AI offers real-time support, its effectiveness hinges on being relevant to the specific moment and team. “Multiplayer blends behavioral science with AI to deliver guidance that’s not only immediate, but also personalized and contextualized for each leader’s world,” Lahti stated.
Humancore currently has 17 full-time employees and plans for significant growth, including expansion at its Plano headquarters. CEO Mike Dolen, based in Minneapolis, noted that the Plano office serves as a central location for board meetings and leadership team gatherings, with the rest of the team operating remotely. Dolen brings extensive experience in HR technology, having held key leadership positions at companies such as LinkedIn, Glint (acquired by LinkedIn), CEB (acquired by Gartner), and Kenexa (acquired by IBM).
The company’s leadership team boasts backgrounds from prominent firms including LinkedIn, Glint, BetterUp, CEB, Kenexa, and Modern Hire. Humancore’s approach aims to address the growing manager crisis, where leaders are expected to do more with often stagnant development budgets. The AI-driven, real-time coaching provided by the Multiplayer AI Advisor seeks to fill this critical gap, focusing on sustainable, science-backed growth for managers and their teams.
