Phoenix, AZ & Amsterdam, Netherlands – August 11, 2025 – Healthcare Outcomes Performance Company (HOPCo), a prominent U.S.-based global specialist in musculoskeletal (MSK) value-based care and outcomes management, has announced the acquisition of Caro Health, an innovative AI-powered digital health startup headquartered in Amsterdam. This significant deal is set to bolster HOPCo’s expanding digital health and care navigation platforms, particularly by integrating Caro Health’s advanced conversational AI technology.
Founded in 2019, Caro Health has developed a proprietary AI platform that leverages conversational artificial intelligence to significantly improve healthcare communication and streamline operational processes. The Dutch startup currently serves nearly 40 healthcare organizations across the Netherlands and Belgium, providing tailored support, progress monitoring, and automated tools that seamlessly integrate with existing Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems. This capability allows care teams to reduce administrative burdens and focus more on delivering efficient, patient-focused care.
The acquisition is a strategic move for HOPCo, aimed at strengthening its European presence and accelerating its mission to build a comprehensive, AI-driven global health platform for care delivery. Thomas Goijarts, Co-founder and CEO of Caro Health, expressed enthusiasm about the partnership, stating, “Our partnership with HOPCo enables us to accelerate our technology, expand our reach, and deliver intelligent, personalised healthcare communication on a global scale – faster and more effectively than ever before.” He further added, “It will also allow us to better serve our local customers here in the Netherlands and across Europe by leveraging HOPCo’s clinical expertise and comprehensive digital platform and services. This will help us stay focused on our core strengths while speeding up the development of patient-centric, value-based technology solutions. We’re excited to be part of the HOPCo Digital Health Team as we work to replicate the success we’ve achieved in Europe, in the United States.”
Following the acquisition, Caro Health’s platform and team will be fully integrated into HOPCo’s Digital Health Division. This integration is expected to contribute significantly to AI enhancements across HOPCo’s existing product suite, including HOPCo Vitals, myrecovery by HOPCo, HOPCo’s EMR Ecosystem, and its cloud-based infrastructure designed for practices, ambulatory surgery centers, and health systems. The move is anticipated to transform patient experiences and substantially increase operational efficiency for HOPCo’s partners worldwide.
