Supreme Court Justice Manoj Mishra recently underscored the critical need for a holistic approach to education, asserting that a sole focus on artificial intelligence (AI) and technology is inadequate for fostering humanity in students. Speaking at a felicitation ceremony for distinguished alumni and current Supreme Court judges at Allahabad University on Saturday, Justice Mishra emphasized that the teaching of arts, social sciences, and literature is equally vital in shaping well-rounded individuals.
‘We must also emphasize the teaching of arts, social sciences, and literature to help create better human beings,’ Justice Mishra remarked during the event, which was presided over by Vice Chancellor Professor Sangeeta Srivastava. He further noted that complete development occurs when students engage with all subjects offered at the university, stating, ‘The learning I got during my studies at this university has been useful throughout my life.’
His sentiments were echoed by other Supreme Court Justices present at the ceremony. Justice Vikram Nath highlighted the pivotal role teachers play in student success, stating, ‘The relationship between teachers and students in the university makes students successful.’ He also advised students not to fear teachers’ reprimands, as even scolding can offer life lessons, and stressed that ‘Hard work never goes waste. Real success lies not in comfort, but in dedication.’
