Helios AI Launches Horizon Platform, Secures $4.7M Seed Funding to Revolutionize Agricultural Procurement with AI Agents

TLDR: Helios AI has introduced its new AI-powered multi-agent platform, Helios Horizon, designed to provide procurement professionals with advanced insights into over 75 agricultural commodities. The company also announced the successful closure of a $4.7 million seed funding round to fuel its global expansion and hiring efforts.

Virginia-based Helios AI is making significant strides in the agricultural technology sector with the launch of its innovative AI-based multi-agent feature, Helios Horizon. This new platform aims to empower procurement professionals by offering unparalleled data and insights into more than 75 agricultural commodities, including staples like coffee, cocoa, and soybeans. The announcement was made by Francisco Martin-Rayo, CEO and founder of Helios AI, at the World Agri-Tech Innovation Summit in London.

Helios Horizon is engineered to optimize purchasing decisions, reduce the cost of goods sold, and free up procurement teams for higher-level strategic analysis. Martin-Rayo described the platform as being ‘like a team of Bloomberg analysts that are working for you 24 hours a day, seven days a week in the language of your choice.’ Users can query the system on critical procurement questions such as ‘When should I buy? How much should I buy? Where should I buy from?’

Beyond its analytical capabilities, Helios Horizon is positioned as the world’s first AI co-pilot specifically built for food and agriculture supply chains, delivering ‘Bloomberg-level intelligence in their pocket, 24/7.’ The platform aggregates billions of data points to offer real-time views of climate and economic risks, enabling superior accuracy in price and supply forecasting—up to five times more accurate than industry standards.

In conjunction with the product launch, Helios AI successfully closed a $4.7 million seed funding round. The round was led by Collide Capital, with notable participation from Angeles VC, Equity Alliance, S&P Global Ventures, Stray Dog Capital, and Supply Change Capital. This capital injection is earmarked to support the company’s ambitious global expansion plans and to bolster its team with new hires, including global heads of sales, growth, and demand.

Martin-Rayo highlighted the growing importance of such tools, noting that climate change is increasingly impacting food inflation. He stated, ‘60% of food inflation in the United States has been driven by weather changes. That is not going to get any better.’ Helios Horizon is designed to help businesses not only mitigate these disruptions but also to ‘profit from it’ by staying ahead of market movements.
