Gandhinagar, Gujarat – In a significant stride towards technology-driven governance, Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel has given his approval to the “Action Plan for Implementation of Artificial Intelligence 2025-2030.” This strategic blueprint is designed to equip the state government with advanced AI capabilities, fostering a robust and innovative AI ecosystem aimed at ensuring seamless service delivery, improving citizen welfare, and enhancing the overall quality of life with prosperity.
The initiative, announced on July 27, 2025, aligns with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s overarching vision to position India as a global leader in digital empowerment and technological advancement through extensive AI adoption. The Gujarat Chief Minister’s Office (CMO) stated that the plan will facilitate smart decision-making, citizen-focused schemes, efficient service delivery, and effective welfare programs through the strategic application of artificial intelligence.
The foundation for this ambitious plan was laid at the annual Chintan Shibir in Somnath in November 2024, where CM Patel declared Gujarat’s commitment to leveraging Artificial Intelligence across its administrative framework and government departments. This move is in line with the “Viksit Gujarat@2047” vision, aiming for leadership in technology-driven governance and socio-economic progress.
To realize this vision and embed AI in critical sectors such as governance, healthcare, education, agriculture, and fintech, a 10-member expert AI Taskforce Committee was established. The recently approved Action Plan for Implementation of A.I. 2025-2030 is based on the comprehensive recommendations put forth by this Taskforce.

Under the guidance of the Chief Minister, this Action Plan will serve as a time-bound blueprint, ensuring a structured and timely integration of AI. To oversee its implementation, the state will establish a dedicated AI and Deep Tech Mission. This mission will function as a specialized institutional mechanism, leading the design and execution of AI initiatives across the state, thereby solidifying Gujarat’s position as a pioneer in AI-enabled governance within the nation.
