Beijing, China – September 23, 2025 – GreenTech Environment Co., Ltd. has officially launched its groundbreaking ‘WateRobot AI Agent,’ marking a significant leap forward in industrial water savings and efficiency through artificial intelligence. The unveiling took place at the ‘Industrial Intelligent Water Saving and Efficiency Promotion Event & GreenTech WateRobot AI Agent 1.0 Ecosystem Launch’ held in Beijing on September 16th. The event, hosted by the China Industrial Energy Conservation and Cleaner Production Association, GreenTech Environment Co., Ltd., and Beijing Zhenghe Island Information Technology Co., Ltd., gathered nearly 400 industry experts, research institutions, universities, environmental protection enterprises, and financial institutions under the theme ‘AI for Water Freedom.’
The WateRobot AI Agent is positioned as a ‘new species’ driving intelligent and green transformation within the industrial sector. Wang Xiaokang, President of the China Industrial Energy Conservation and Cleaner Production Association, emphasized that ‘AI empowerment will unlock new possibilities for environmental governance and industrial water conservation, and the WateRobot AI Agent is an innovative achievement of deep integration between intelligence and water technology.’
At its core, the WateRobot AI Agent applies proprietary predictive process optimization, multimodal sensing (including computer vision, audio, and infrared), and large language reasoning models. It operates on a closed-loop online-to-offline system, enabling autonomous, safe, and cost-efficient management of plant operations. This intelligent unmanned management platform is integrated with GreenTech’s IoT-enabled Newater House modular wastewater treatment facilities, which are smart prefabricated water plants designed for industrial manufacturers, parks, and municipalities.
Liu Donghua, Founder and Chief Architect of Zhenghe Island, highlighted the potential for optimal solutions in wastewater resource utilization through AI, stating that ‘the widespread application and continuous upgrading of the WateRobot AI Agent can inject significant strength into achieving ‘Water Freedom’ for industry, cities, and even the nation.’ AI expert Wei Kai, Director of the Artificial Intelligence Research Institute at the China Academy of Information and Communications Technology, delivered a keynote speech, noting that ‘advancements in large language models have brought new paradigms to the development of AI technology, and the birth of the WateRobot AI Agent represents an important attempt of AI in the field of industrial water treatment.’
GreenTech Chairman Zhang Huichun outlined the transformative vision, proposing that ‘using AI to replace human management of water plants can achieve industrial assembly line production, modular assembly, unmanned operation, and intelligent operation of water plants, replacing the traditional operational models of conventional engineered water plants.’ This innovative approach is projected to lead to a 90% reduction in footprint, construction period, and operational staff, alongside a 50% reduction in Life Cycle Cost (LCC). The ultimate goal is to enable humanity to obtain Sustainable, Abundant, Reliable, and Affordable High-quality water (SARAH), thereby achieving ‘Water Freedom.’
Initial deployments of the WateRobot AI Agent in early 2025 have already demonstrated significant success. In China’s Wuxi city, five wastewater treatment plants were bundled for centralized remote control, resulting in unattended operations with AI-powered predictive analytics optimizing treatment processes and operating assets. This led to a remarkable 58% saving in labor costs and a 12.7% reduction in energy consumption. The system also enhances risk monitoring through computer vision, detecting incidents like water leaks, open flames, smoke, abnormal temperatures, and mechanical vibrations, thus reducing intervention delays.

Further enhancing its capabilities, the WateRobot AI Agent was recently upgraded leveraging DeepSeek R1’s advanced reasoning model to deliver next-generation autonomous water management. GreenTech is also actively pursuing global expansion, as evidenced by its participation in the Global Water Expo 2025 in Saudi Arabia (September 2-4) and the signing of memorandums of understanding with Singapore-based MediSun Energy. This partnership aims to integrate GreenTech’s Newater House with MediSun’s advanced brine management solutions, improving energy recovery and reducing the environmental impact of brine discharge, and accelerating global market entry for these advanced water solutions.
