This AI-driven tool operates by automatically identifying and suggesting optimal time slots. It intelligently analyzes the user’s Google Calendar availability and, crucially, the context of the email conversation. For instance, if an email mentions a preference for a “30-minute slot before next week,” Gemini will prioritize half-hour windows within that timeframe, presenting them directly within the email compose box. Once a recipient selects a preferred time, the system automatically generates and adds a calendar invite for both parties, streamlining the entire coordination process.
Currently, the “Help me schedule” feature is limited to one-on-one meetings and does not yet support group scheduling. Users can access this functionality through a dedicated “Help me schedule” button located below the Gmail compose box. The suggested time slots are editable, allowing for customization before being inserted into the email.
Google emphasizes that its Gemini-integrated solution offers a more context-aware approach compared to other automated scheduling tools like Calendly, Doodle, Zoom, and HubSpot. This enhanced intelligence is a direct result of Gemini’s advanced AI capabilities.
The introduction of this feature is part of a broader initiative by Google to embed AI across its Workspace suite. The gradual rollout of the “Help me schedule” feature began on October 13, 2025, for Rapid Release domains, with Scheduled Release domains slated to receive it starting October 28, 2025.
