TLDR: GigRadar, a U.S.-based AI platform founded by Ukrainians, has announced the acquisition of Upsky, a Ukrainian startup specializing in AI solutions for automating client communication on Upwork. This strategic move aims to expand GigRadar’s artificial intelligence capabilities, offering more intelligent communication tools and deeper analytics for agencies and freelancers, while also reinforcing support for Ukrainian engineering talent amidst ongoing challenges.

GigRadar, a prominent AI platform designed to empower digital agencies and freelancers on Upwork, has officially announced its acquisition of Upsky, a Ukrainian startup. The acquisition, which was made public on October 10, 2025, marks a significant expansion of GigRadar’s artificial intelligence capabilities, particularly in automating client interactions and providing advanced analytics.

Founded by Ukrainians with its headquarters now in the U.S. and an engineering team remaining in Ukraine, GigRadar leverages AI algorithms, automation, and analytics to help agencies scale efficiently. Upsky, established in Lviv in 2024, has carved a niche in developing AI solutions specifically for automating communication with clients on Upwork, thereby reducing the time freelancers spend on routine administrative tasks.

Vadym Ovcharenko, CEO of GigRadar, emphasized the dual significance of this acquisition. “We have always said: Ukrainians are about resilience and intelligence. GigRadar was born from a Ukrainian agency, and today, developing in the US, we remain part of the same community,” stated Ovcharenko. He further added, “For us, this integration is about a future in which Ukrainian teams not only survive, but also influence the global market.” This highlights GigRadar’s commitment not only to product enhancement but also to bolstering Ukrainian engineering culture, even in the face of ongoing conflict and adversity.

Volodymyr Khodonovich, CEO of Upsky, shared the founding vision of his company. “We created Upsky to free freelancers from routine work and allow them to focus on what is truly valuable — on people and quality work communications,” Khodonovich explained. The integration with GigRadar is expected to bring forth new tools for intelligent AI communication and more profound analytical insights, further streamlining operations for users.
