This suggests that AI can make complex topics more engaging and memorable, fostering active learning rather than passive retention.

However, the integration of generative AI is not without its hurdles. Ethical ambiguities, the potential for misinformation, issues of accountability, data privacy risks, and the possible erosion of critical thinking skills are prominent concerns. Experts emphasize the need for medical professionalism to evolve in response to these technological advancements. Medical schools are actively adapting their curricula to equip students with the necessary skills for an AI-integrated medical future. Only a third of the surveyed colleges had initiated faculty or administrator-focused generative AI training, predominantly covering basic use and ethical considerations, with less emphasis on enhancing educational efficiency or reducing workload. This indicates a gap in preparing educators to fully leverage these tools.
