Extreme Networks Bolsters AI Strategy with New Service Agent Rollout and CTO Promotion to President of AI Platforms

TLDR: Extreme Networks has significantly advanced its AI strategy by launching an AI Service Agent for all Extreme Platform ONE customers and appointing its Chief Technology Officer, Nabil Bukhari, as President of AI Platforms. This move underscores the company’s commitment to integrating AI at the core of its networking solutions, aiming to automate network management and enhance operational efficiency.

Extreme Networks, Inc. (NASDAQ: EXTR) announced a major expansion of its artificial intelligence (AI) strategy on October 22, 2025, with the rollout of its innovative AI Service Agent to all customers utilizing Extreme Platform ONE. Concurrently, the company elevated its Chief Technology Officer, Nabil Bukhari, to the new role of President of AI Platforms, signaling a deeper commitment to AI-driven innovation within its leadership structure.

The newly introduced AI Service Agent is touted as the networking industry’s first of its kind, designed to revolutionize network management. It automates a range of critical tasks, including evidence collection, ticket creation, and comprehensive case management. This automation is projected to drastically reduce manual effort for IT teams managing enterprise networks by up to 95%, thereby accelerating problem resolution and allowing IT personnel to focus on more strategic initiatives.

The AI Service Agent is seamlessly integrated into Extreme Platform ONE, the company’s advanced networking platform. This platform leverages agentic, multimodal, and conversational AI technologies to deliver automated network management capabilities. Extreme Platform ONE, which was launched earlier, has already demonstrated significant impact, with over 265 customers adopting it, leading to a reduction in manual work by up to 90% and cutting resolution times by up to 98%.

Nabil Bukhari, in his expanded capacity as President of AI Platforms, will continue to oversee products, research and development, the Office of the CTO, and the subscription business. His new mandate includes spearheading all AI initiatives and driving the widespread adoption of Extreme Platform ONE across the company’s global customer base.

Bukhari emphasized the company’s vision, stating, “At Extreme, we don’t see AI as an add-on, but as intelligence that powers our entire portfolio. We’re building agentic systems that don’t just respond; they think, adapt, and create value continuously.” Ed Meyercord, President and CEO of Extreme, further articulated this strategic direction: “At Extreme, we’re investing in AI to power the new era of networking. By making it the nucleus of our products and solutions and using it to drive our own business forward, we’re delivering networks that are faster, more automated, and more responsive to customer needs. This isn’t just evolution; it’s a step change that empowers our customers to solve problems faster.”

In a testament to its leadership in the field, IDC recognized Extreme Networks as a leader in AI-powered network management in a September market report, specifically highlighting Extreme Platform ONE for its ability to address the complexities of modern networking.
