TLDR: Climate fintech startup Eventual has successfully raised $7.5 million in seed funding, led by AlleyCorp and Upfront Ventures. The company leverages artificial intelligence and extensive property data to predict future insurance cost trends, aiming to help property owners and stakeholders manage financial exposure amidst increasing climate-driven premium volatility.
Eventual, a pioneering climate fintech startup, has announced the successful closure of a $7.5 million seed funding round. The investment, spearheaded by prominent venture capital firms AlleyCorp and Upfront Ventures, is set to accelerate the company’s mission to address the escalating unpredictability of property insurance pricing, a direct consequence of climate change.
Founded in 2023 by Dylan DiMarchi and Youssef Doss, Eventual’s innovative platform utilizes advanced artificial intelligence (AI) and a vast dataset encompassing 20 million residential and 150,000 commercial properties. This robust data infrastructure allows the company to model and predict insurance cost trends up to five years into the future.
The core of Eventual’s offering is its flagship product, ‘Premium Lock.’ This tool employs predictive analytics to estimate how insurance costs for U.S. properties will evolve, providing property owners, insurers, and other stakeholders with a crucial framework to manage their financial exposure in an increasingly volatile market.
Co-founder Dylan DiMarchi, whose background as a sailor in Hawaii provided firsthand observation of shifting weather patterns, highlighted the urgent need for such solutions. “Many of our customers have seen premiums increase by 50% to 100% over the last three to four years,” DiMarchi noted, underscoring the significant financial burden faced by property owners.
Investors recognize the critical role Eventual plays in the current economic landscape. Luc Ryan-Schreiber of AlleyCorp emphasized the urgency, stating that insurance pricing is “one of today’s most urgent financial problems.” Yoon Lee of real estate firm RoomUnity praised the Premium Lock tool, describing its ability to “cap how much our premium can go up for a set period” as “invaluable for financial planning.”

The newly secured funding will be strategically deployed to further develop Eventual’s AI-driven tools, expand its enterprise integrations, and grow its advisory networks. This expansion aims to democratize climate risk insights within real estate markets, bridging the gap between climate science and financial decision-making by aggregating and normalizing crucial climate data.
