Embracing AI-Native Paradigms: Reshaping the Future of Work

TLDR: A recent discussion at the MachineCon GCC Summit 2025 highlighted the transformative concept of “AI-Native Thinking,” urging businesses to fundamentally rethink operations by integrating AI agents. Experts emphasized that this approach redefines employee roles, shifting focus from execution to higher-order thinking and domain expertise, and enables exponential scalability. India is positioned as a crucial hub for global AI strategy and innovation.

At the recent MachineCon GCC Summit 2025, industry leaders delved into the profound implications of ‘AI-Native Thinking’ for the future of work. Pavitar Singh, CEO and co-founder of UnifyApps, alongside Ramaswamy PV, EVP and global CIO of Virtusa, spearheaded the discussion, urging enterprises to consider how they would operate if they were to start their businesses today, leveraging AI agents from the ground up. This paradigm shift moves beyond mere Generative AI adoption towards a truly AI-native operational model.

The core of this reimagining lies in redefining the employee’s role. Traditionally, software functioned as a ‘system of record’ that did not perform actual units of work, necessitating linear scaling through increased hiring. However, with the advent of AI agents, this equation changes dramatically. Singh explained, ‘Every employee can run a team of AI agents,’ leading to ‘exponential scale rather than a linear productivity.’ He elaborated that the role of junior developers, once focused on writing code, will be increasingly handled by AI agents, while senior engineers will transition to reviewing the AI’s output. The AI-native employee, as described by Singh, becomes ‘a higher-order thinker’ who delegates execution to agents, meaning ‘You’re not doing the job. You’re getting the job done by the agents.’ This shift underscores that ‘Domain expertise will be the currency of the future. Mediocre and average intelligence will be handled by AI agents.’ Ramaswamy reinforced this idea with an analogy, comparing AI’s impact to how auto-rickshaws replaced hand-pulled ones: AI will not eliminate human roles but elevate them, as ‘A man is still driving those autos. It’s just that he’s enabled.’

The summit also emphasized the importance of scalable and responsible AI adoption. UnifyApps’ BOT framework was highlighted for its ability to facilitate risk-free, scalable AI initiatives without disrupting existing operations, granting enterprises full ownership of their transformation journey. Analysts noted that UnifyApps’ growing success with technology-forward organizations like Virtusa could signal future trends in enterprise AI platform adoption. Ramaswamy’s concise call to action resonated with attendees: ‘Be AI-native. That’s where the real advantage will be.’

Furthermore, the discussion underscored India’s pivotal role in the global AI landscape. Goutam Behera, director of solution consulting at UnifyApps, asserted in a separate interview during the summit, ‘Without India, any AI strategy anywhere in the world is incomplete today.’ This statement aligns with the growing recognition that India’s Global Capability Centers (GCCs) are rapidly evolving into key hubs for AI development, innovation, and execution for multinational corporations.
