SUCCESS Corporation has announced that its upcoming mystery visual novel, ‘Ghost Traveler: Adventures in Edo,’ will launch digitally on October 16, 2025. The game will be available on Nintendo Switch and PC through Steam, supporting English, Japanese, and Simplified Chinese language options.
The narrative centers on Kotaro, a 17-year-old protagonist from modern-day Japan. After a supernatural event in Shibuya, he loses consciousness and awakens to find himself in Edo-period Japan, specifically the Yoshiwara pleasure quarter. Kotaro learns from a ‘god’ that he has been transported back in time as a soul, his physical body having perished. Without understanding the reason for his displacement or how to return to his own era, Kotaro begins to explore Yoshiwara in search of answers.
His quest for clues quickly leads him into a grim mystery when he encounters the murder of an oiran (courtesan). Taking on the role of a detective, Kotaro becomes embroiled in a series of bizarre and grotesque murders. The game incorporates a time-loop system, allowing players to replay events and piece together clues to unravel the truth behind the killings and ultimately find a path back to the present day.
