Docyt Unveils Advanced AI Agents for Accelerated Accounting Automation, Bolstering GARY’s Capabilities

TLDR: Docyt, an AI bookkeeper, has launched new precision-trained AI agents and the Docyt High Precision Accounting Intelligence (HpAI) engine to significantly enhance and automate complex accounting workflows, building upon its existing AI accountant, GARY. This development aims to reduce manual tasks and accelerate processes like month-end close.

Docyt AI Inc., a leader in AI-driven accounting automation, has announced the debut of its precision-trained AI agents and the new Docyt High Precision Accounting Intelligence (HpAI) engine, designed to revolutionize and accelerate complex bookkeeping workflows. This strategic expansion builds upon the foundation of GARY, Docyt’s artificial intelligence-powered accountant, which was introduced last year as the world’s first AI Bookkeeper. The Docyt HpAI engine is described as an AI agent specifically engineered for intricate accounting tasks, aiming to automate processes that traditionally demand significant human intervention. This launch follows a successful pre-Series B investment round, where Docyt secured $12 million, led by Pivot Investment Partners.

GARY, an acronym for “Generative Accounting Retrieval sYstem,” integrates generative AI, precision AI, and predictive AI algorithms to manage tasks such as expense management, revenue accounting, and financial reporting. Docyt reports that dozens of accounting firms are currently utilizing GARY to automate the arduous “month-end” closing process, which involves reviewing, recording, and reconciling potentially thousands of transactions. This automation has been shown to compress a process that typically takes weeks into as little as 45 minutes.

The newly introduced HpAI engine further enhances GARY’s capabilities by combining Docyt’s advanced large language models with “precision-trained” AI agents. These agents are tailored for specific accounting functions, including reconciliation, categorization, anomaly detection, and the month-end close. These agentic capabilities are integrated into Docyt’s Accountant Copilot, designed to simulate the intelligence of human bookkeepers. This allows organizations to delegate various bookkeeping tasks, traditionally handled by junior accountants, to these AI agents.

Sid Saxena, co-founder and CEO of Docyt, highlighted the impact of GARY, stating, “Through GARY, businesses can now obtain a real-time financial picture via continuous reconciliation – KPI tracking is also performed daily in real-time. This cuts down the month-end-close down to 45 minutes, whereas it can take up to two weeks for a typical business. What an exciting breakthrough for the accounting world and, frankly, for any growing business!” He also emphasized Docyt’s comprehensive approach, noting, “Today, the accounting field is cluttered with point solutions. Docyt eliminates this with one powerful solution: integrating everything through AI-powered workflows for expense management, revenue accounting, and robust industry vertical reporting KPIs, forming a seamless ecosystem.”

Sugam Pandey, Co-Founder & CTO of Docyt, previously stated, “Docyt’s artificial intelligence and machine learning models focus on the accrual-basis generation of financial statements, and ours is currently the only solution that seeks to reduce human involvement in the process of closing the books.” He also mentioned the extensive training of their Precision AI, which has “learned by processing and closing more than $1 Billion worth of balance sheet transactions and automated accounting tasks, workflows in expense, revenue, reconciliation and closing for a wide variety of industry verticals with a high degree of accuracy to eliminate any potential hallucination.”

Docyt’s AI platform is already being utilized by businesses across various industries, internal finance teams in large corporations, and independent CPAs, including top-100 U.S. accounting firms. The company’s goal is to bring AI technology to small and medium-sized businesses (SMBs), the engine of the American economy.
