Deutsche Telekom (DT) has significantly bolstered its artificial intelligence portfolio by investing in Decagon, a leading provider of agentic AI solutions. This strategic move, announced on November 12, 2025, sees DT’s corporate venturing arm, T.Capital, participating in Decagon’s oversubscribed $131 million Series C fundraise, which values the AI startup at $1.5 billion. While the exact amount of T.Capital’s contribution was not disclosed, this investment underscores DT’s continued focus on advanced AI technologies within the enterprise sector.
In conjunction with the investment, Deutsche Telekom has launched a commercial pilot program integrating Decagon’s AI agents into its own customer service systems. The primary objective of this pilot is to drive substantial improvements in key customer experience metrics, including the Net Promoter Score (NPS), the frequency of re-contacts, and overall resolution times for customer inquiries.
Jonathan Abrahamson, Chief Product & Digital Officer at DT and a key figure in the Group’s AI initiatives, highlighted the transformative potential of Decagon’s agentic AI platform. He emphasized its capability to deploy AI agents rapidly, stating they can be rolled out in ‘days, not months,’ and noted the technology’s ‘measurable impact’ in reducing support costs while simultaneously boosting customer satisfaction. DT plans to meticulously monitor the pilot’s impact on these KPIs ‘week-over-week.’
Decagon, co-founded in 2023 by CEO Jesse Zhang and CTO Ashwin Sreenivas, specializes in an agentic AI platform that offers comprehensive chat, email, and voice solutions designed to revolutionize customer experience. Unlike traditional chatbots, Decagon’s agentic AI possesses the ability to understand complex business logic, take actions on behalf of customers, analyze trends, and even update knowledge base articles, effectively managing the entire customer support lifecycle. This advanced capability allows for personalized AI agents that can proactively assist customers 24/7.
The Series C funding round, co-led by Accel and Andreessen Horowitz’s Growth Fund, brought Decagon’s total funding to $231 million. The company has seen rapid growth, with previous rounds including a $65 million Series B in October 2024 and a $35 million Series A. Decagon’s success is further evidenced by its impressive client roster, which includes industry leaders such as Duolingo, Notion, Rippling, Eventbrite, Bilt, and Hertz. For instance, Thatcher Foster, VP of CS at Bilt, reported that Decagon’s AI agents handle 70% of their 60,000 monthly tickets, leading to ‘hundreds of thousands of dollars’ in monthly savings and a stronger, more specialized human agent team.
Sarah Wang, General Partner at Andreessen Horowitz, commented on the significant demand for AI agents in the customer experience sector, stating that ‘Decagon has the technical prowess, focus, and expertise to lead this market.’ The new capital will be utilized to further product innovation, expand engineering and operations teams, and scale the platform to support more complex enterprise use cases, aiming to make proactive, intelligent support the new standard in customer experience.
