TLDR: Deloitte has significantly expanded the artificial intelligence capabilities within its global cloud-based Audit & Assurance platform, Omnia. The new suite of Generative AI (GenAI) and agentic AI tools aims to revolutionize the audit process by improving efficiency, accuracy, and insight generation for auditors worldwide, addressing the increasing complexity of the business landscape.
Deloitte has announced a substantial expansion of its artificial intelligence (AI) capabilities within Omnia, the firm’s global cloud-based Audit & Assurance platform. This strategic enhancement integrates advanced Generative AI (GenAI) and intelligent agentic AI tools, designed to transform the audit experience and empower professionals to navigate an increasingly complex, technology-driven business environment.
The new AI features are set to evolve the audit process, providing agile and integrated solutions to meet the rapidly changing needs of clients. Susan Bennett, Managing Partner, Audit & Assurance, Deloitte Canada, emphasized the transformative impact, stating, “AI is reshaping the future of the audit profession, driving meaningful advancements that strengthen innovation and trust. With these new AI capabilities within Omnia, our people are equipped with cutting-edge tools to meet the complex and rapidly changing needs of Canadian clients and communities, ensuring we continue to deliver exceptional quality and value in a dynamic landscape.”
The suite of new capabilities leverages GenAI to reimagine key audit processes, including:
Enhanced documentation review: GenAI can perform initial reviews of audit documentation, suggesting improvements for clarity and consistency.
Improved navigation of financial statements: Auditors can explore relevant information in draft financial statements and ask nuanced questions, streamlining tie-out procedures.
Streamlined data extraction processes: GenAI’s ability to summarize information across complex documents enables auditors to unlock richer insights and reach conclusions more efficiently.
Advanced drafting capabilities: A GenAI-powered workflow can create first drafts of audit-related communications and accounting memos.
Beyond GenAI, Deloitte is integrating intelligent agent capabilities into the Omnia ecosystem. These AI agents function as digital specialists capable of performing specific tasks, remembering relevant information, and coordinating with other agents as an interconnected system. Jean-Marc Mickeler, Audit & Assurance CEO at Deloitte Global, highlighted the global impact, noting, “AI is revolutionizing the audit profession worldwide, unlocking unparalleled opportunities for innovation and transformation.”
All AI capabilities within Omnia are developed in alignment with Deloitte’s Trustworthy AI™ framework, which embeds governance, controls, and compliance throughout the AI lifecycle. This commitment ensures quality, builds user confidence, and protects the public interest.
Deloitte’s investment in advanced technology has already seen significant adoption. The firm has rolled out purpose-specific large language models and chatbots, leveraged by nearly 85,000 audit and assurance professionals globally, who have recorded over three million AI prompts in the first year of use. Additionally, Deloitte recently launched the Global Agentic Network, offering AI agent solutions for large-scale client deployments.
Emeterio Barrón, Audit & Assurance Managing Partner of Deloitte Spanish Latin America, underscored the firm’s leadership: “We continue strengthening our leadership in audit by expanding AI capabilities within our global Omnia platform. The fast pace of technological advances and the growing complexity of business environments demand a constant commitment to digital transformation.” Nigel Thomas, Audit & Assurance Strategy & Digital Change leader, added, “The pace of technological change demands solutions that complement and enhance the tremendous talent and deep industry knowledge our auditors bring to every engagement.”
