TLDR: Credem, a leading Italian banking group, has deepened its strategic collaboration with Google Cloud to integrate generative AI into its daily operations. This multi-year partnership extension will see the implementation of Google Workspace with Gemini to enhance employee productivity and improve customer service, with further evaluations for advanced AI agent development.
MILAN, November 11, 2025 – Credem, a prominent Italian banking group, and Google Cloud today announced a significant expansion of their strategic partnership, focusing on the accelerated adoption of generative artificial intelligence. This multi-year extension aims to embed Google Workspace with Gemini, Google’s generative AI technology, directly into the daily productivity tools utilized by Credem’s employees.
The collaboration builds upon an existing foundation where Credem has already leveraged Google Cloud for critical aspects of its digital transformation, including cloud infrastructure and strategic data management. The integration of generative AI is set to further bolster Credem’s innovation strategy, with a clear objective to continuously elevate service standards for its customers and equip its workforce with sophisticated tools for enhanced efficiency.
Piergiorgio Grossi, Chief Innovation & Data Officer at Credem, articulated the bank’s vision: “With the adoption of generative AI tools, we want to provide people with useful tools to work better, more efficiently, and dedicate more time to high-value-added activities.” This initiative is expected to streamline daily tasks for Credem employees by accelerating information retrieval and optimizing time spent on operational activities such as note-taking, document summarization, and data analysis, ultimately boosting overall productivity.
Beyond the immediate deployment of Google Workspace with Gemini, Credem is actively exploring the implementation of additional Google Cloud tools. These include Gemini Enterprise and Vertex AI, which are earmarked for the development of advanced AI agents. These semi-autonomous AI programs are designed to plan, execute actions, and adapt to complex tasks, signifying a deeper dive into AI-driven automation.
Credem has underscored its commitment to responsible AI adoption, ensuring that all implementations will strictly adhere to industry regulations, prioritizing data confidentiality and maintaining complete control over processed information. To facilitate a smooth and informed transition, the banking group has rolled out a comprehensive training and engagement program. This program commenced with an AI skills assessment across its entire workforce and projects over 30,000 hours of specialized AI training to be completed by the end of the year.
