TLDR: The Choctaw Nation of Oklahoma, the third-largest federally recognized tribe in the U.S., has implemented Oracle Fusion Cloud Applications, leveraging embedded and generative AI capabilities to streamline human resources and financial processes, reduce costs, and enhance services for its 250,000 members. A significant initiative includes using Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) Generative AI for English-to-Choctaw language translation to preserve the tribal language.
LAS VEGAS, October 15, 2025 – The Choctaw Nation of Oklahoma, a prominent federally recognized tribe, has announced its strategic adoption of Oracle Fusion Cloud Applications to revolutionize its enterprise operations and foster growth for its extensive community. This move, unveiled at Oracle AI World in Las Vegas, underscores the Nation’s commitment to leveraging advanced technology, particularly artificial intelligence, to enhance efficiency, improve insights, and empower future generations of tribal leaders.
The Choctaw Nation, which serves over 250,000 tribal members and employs more than 13,000 full-time associates, manages a diverse portfolio of operations including dozens of casinos, four resort hotels, 32 medical facilities, and over 60,000 acres of ranching and agriculture. To support its vast and complex ecosystem, the Nation sought to streamline critical business processes and has now integrated Oracle Fusion Cloud Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP), Human Capital Management (HCM), Supply Chain & Manufacturing (SCM), and Customer Experience (CX) applications.
Central to this implementation is the strategic utilization of embedded AI capabilities within Oracle Fusion Applications. These AI-powered features are designed to automate key HR and financial processes, significantly reducing operational costs and enhancing the overall employee experience. For instance, the tribe is already using AI to streamline invoice processing and plans to implement advanced AI-powered capabilities such as predictive cash forecasting and narrative reporting. Furthermore, the Choctaw Nation intends to utilize Oracle’s virtual credit card with J.P. Morgan Chase to maximize business-to-business invoice payments, further automating core finance functions.
Emily Crow, IT director of enterprise services for the Choctaw Nation of Oklahoma, emphasized the long-term vision behind this technological embrace. “For sovereign nations, leadership means planning for future generations. Embracing AI is key to building a strong foundation that supports our values, drives economic growth, and secures our long-term success,” said Crow. She added that the organization has already adopted over 40 generative AI capabilities and plans to leverage more of Oracle’s AI agents to improve operational efficiency. Within Oracle Fusion Cloud HCM, the Nation has implemented AI-powered features like the Learning and Training Advisor Agent, Oracle Grow, and Oracle Dynamic Skills to support employee development and streamline HR processes.
Beyond operational efficiencies, a deeply significant aspect of this partnership is the Choctaw Nation’s initiative to preserve its ancestral language. The Nation is utilizing Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) Generative AI service to develop a language translation model from English to Choctaw. This critical project aims to safeguard the tribal language, which currently has fewer than 300 first-language speakers remaining.
Steve Miranda, executive vice president of Applications Development at Oracle, highlighted the impact of this collaboration. “With broad and complex operations, it’s often challenging for tribal nations to oversee business and workforce data across multiple industries while also meeting unique regulatory requirements,” Miranda stated. “With Oracle Fusion Applications, the Choctaw Nation has been able to take advantage of advanced AI capabilities to increase productivity, streamline critical business processes, cultivate the next generation of leaders, and set the stage for a future of innovation and growth.”
