Quantiphi, an AI-first digital engineering company and an Elite Tier partner of Snowflake, has announced a strategic collaboration with Chalo, India’s prominent public transport technology company. The partnership focuses on modernizing Chalo’s data infrastructure by leveraging Snowflake’s AI Data Cloud and Quantiphi’s generative AI-powered developer’s agent, Codeaira. This initiative is designed to significantly improve Chalo’s operational efficiency, reduce costs, and support the scalability of its rapidly expanding data ecosystem.
Chalo, which manages over 4 billion passenger rides and operations annually across 67 Indian cities and 23 international cities in the Philippines, Peru, and Fiji, is a leader in digitizing public transport. Their innovations include live bus tracking, mobile ticketing, and smart travel card platforms, alongside various backend IT systems for operators. Previously, Chalo faced challenges such as performance bottlenecks, high operational costs, and reduced scalability due to its expanding footprint and an insufficient unified data strategy.
Bhaskar Kalita, Quantiphi Executive Sponsor, Snowflake Alliance and Global Head of Financial Services and Insurance, stated that Quantiphi assisted Chalo in overcoming these challenges by migrating its data to Snowflake’s AI Data Cloud. He highlighted the role of Codeaira in accelerating the data migration process, enabling Chalo to achieve full operational readiness ahead of schedule. Kalita emphasized, ‘By combining our expertise with Snowflake’s powerful data platform, we helped Chalo build a scalable and efficient data ecosystem to support its rapid expansion. This collaboration showcases how strategic partnerships can drive innovation, transform industries, and create smarter businesses for the future.’
Atmesh Mishra, Chalo AVP of Platform, confirmed the success of the migration, noting, ‘We needed a robust data engineering platform and as the first to leverage Quantiphi’s Gen AI accelerator, Codeaira, we achieved nearly 50 percent faster migration.’ He added that Chalo was ‘live and fully functional on the new platform in just two months, delivering greater value to our customers.’ The migration to Snowflake now allows Chalo to monitor internal metrics and send real-time alerts to passengers regarding delays or operational anomalies.
