Capgemini, Mistral AI, and SAP Forge Alliance for Secure Generative AI in Regulated Sectors

TLDR: Capgemini, Mistral AI, and SAP have expanded their strategic partnership to deliver secure and scalable generative AI solutions specifically designed for highly regulated industries. This collaboration leverages Mistral AI’s advanced models and SAP Business Technology Platform to offer over 50 pre-built AI use cases, ensuring stringent data security, compliance, and ethical AI practices for sectors like financial services, public sector, aerospace, defense, and energy.

Capgemini, a global leader in consulting, technology services, and digital transformation, has announced a significant expansion of its strategic partnership with Mistral AI, a prominent developer of innovative AI models, and SAP, a leading enterprise software provider. This tripartite collaboration aims to accelerate the adoption of secure and scalable generative AI (GenAI) solutions within highly regulated industries.

The initiative is specifically tailored for sectors with stringent data requirements, including financial services, the public sector, aerospace & defense, and energy & utilities. The core objective is to enable organizations in these fields to deploy custom AI solutions within a trusted and secure environment, leveraging the power of Mistral AI’s revolutionary GenAI models and the robust infrastructure of the SAP Business Technology Platform (BTP).

A key outcome of this partnership is the development of a comprehensive library of over 50 pre-built, ready-to-use AI applications. These use cases are designed to address mission-critical functions across various industries, with a strong emphasis on ethical AI principles, governance, and regulatory alignment. Examples include augmented field operations in aerospace, predictive drone maintenance in the energy sector, and intelligent procurement tools applicable across industries. The collaboration has already seen success with projects like SupplierGPT for Brose, an automotive industry supplier.

Fernando Alvarez, Chief Strategy and Development Officer and Group Executive Board Member at Capgemini, emphasized the growing importance of AI: “Enterprises are increasingly turning to generative AI to enhance their resilience, streamline operations and accelerate time to value… Capgemini is committed to helping them evolve their critical business processes through the secure and tailored application of AI.” He further added, “In collaboration with Mistral AI and SAP, we can enable organizations to access a wide range of innovative and customized AI models, generating significant business value and fostering sustainable growth.”

Marjorie Janiewicz, Executive Board Member and Global Head of Revenue at Mistral AI, highlighted the collaborative benefits: “This new collaboration between Capgemini, Mistral AI and SAP unlocks new high-value business use cases for organisations seeking to augment their operations with generative AI capabilities.”

The partnership addresses the unique challenges faced by regulated industries, where restrictive laws and regulations often impede AI adoption, particularly concerning data protection, algorithm transparency, and accountability. By combining Mistral AI’s multilingual models with SAP’s secure BTP, the alliance ensures that sensitive data remains protected while enabling powerful AI-driven transformation.

Capgemini’s commitment to secure AI deployment is further exemplified by its SovBox solution, a certified, private infrastructure in France designed for ‘restricted distribution’ and ‘confidential Industry’ projects. SovBox integrates Mistral AI’s models, including Codestral, to support secure, high-performance GenAI across the software development lifecycle. Furthermore, Mistral AI’s models are engineered for efficiency, aligning with Capgemini’s commitment to low-carbon digital transformation and helping clients meet their sustainability goals by reducing energy consumption and optimizing infrastructure usage.
