Campus Journalism Forum in Cebu to Delve into AI’s Role in Future Storytelling

CEBU CITY, Philippines – The University of the Philippines Cebu is set to host a pivotal forum on Thursday, September 25, 2025, focusing on ‘AI and the Future of Storytelling’ within campus journalism. This special event, tailored for communication students, will address the critical question of how artificial intelligence is reshaping the landscape of news reporting, production, and consumption. The forum is a collaborative effort by CDN Digital, INQUIRER.net, GCash, and PRWorks, designed to foster essential discussions among aspiring journalists regarding AI’s integration into Philippine newsrooms.

The event will feature two prominent figures in media and communication. Arlene Burgos, the newly appointed Chief Content Officer of INQUIRER.net, will share her extensive experience spanning over two decades in digital journalism and newsroom leadership. Burgos is recognized for pioneering social and mobile strategies, leading citizen journalism initiatives, and guiding teams in developing award-winning digital products. Joining her is Jerome Lantin, the External Affairs Lead at GCash, who brings a rich background as an internationally recognized investigative journalist for ABS-CBN before transitioning into corporate communications, where he now oversees efforts in digital safety and anti-fraud.
