C3 AI Reports Strong Q2 2025 Revenue Growth Driven by Microsoft Partnership and AI Innovation

TLDR: C3 AI announced a 29% year-over-year revenue increase to $94.3 million in Q2 2025, fueled by robust subscription growth and a significant strategic alliance with Microsoft. The company expanded its sales reach through partnerships, converting 15 Generative AI pilots to production and launching Agentic AI Websites. Despite ongoing GAAP net losses of $0.52 per share, C3 AI maintains a strong cash balance of $730.4 million and holds a foundational patent for generative AI agents, positioning it for growth in the expanding AI infrastructure market.

REDWOOD CITY, Calif. – C3 AI (NYSE: AI), a leading Enterprise AI application software company, has reported a strong fiscal second quarter for 2025, ending October 31, 2024, showcasing significant revenue acceleration and strategic advancements in the burgeoning AI infrastructure sector. The company achieved a total revenue of $94.3 million, marking a 29% increase year-over-year from $73.2 million in the prior year. Subscription revenue, a key indicator of growth, rose by 22% to $81.2 million, constituting 86% of the total revenue. Combined subscription and prioritized engineering services revenue reached $90.8 million, up 27% year-over-year, representing 96% of total revenue.

“We had an outstanding quarter with strong top- and bottom-line performance to mark our seventh consecutive quarter of accelerating revenue growth,” stated Thomas M. Siebel, Chairman and CEO of C3 AI.

A pivotal catalyst for this performance is the new global alliance agreement signed with Microsoft on September 30, 2024, for an initial five-and-a-half-year term extending to March 2030. This partnership positions C3 AI as a preferred AI application provider on Azure, integrating C3 AI’s Enterprise AI and C3 Generative AI solutions directly onto the Azure Price List and Marketplace. The collaboration significantly expands C3 AI’s go-to-market capabilities, leveraging Microsoft’s global sales organization, which now includes approximately 10,000 professionals incentivized with commissions, quota credit, and special bonuses for Azure–C3 AI sales. Microsoft will also subsidize C3 AI pilots and production deployments, dramatically shortening sales cycles.

Siebel emphasized the importance of this alliance, stating, “By establishing C3 AI as a preferred AI application provider on Azure and creating a Microsoft-scale go-to-market engine, we’re making it easy for businesses to adopt and deploy C3 AI applications. This is an inflection point for Enterprise AI, driving growth.”

Beyond Microsoft, C3 AI continues to strengthen its partner ecosystem. In Q2 2025, 62% of all agreements were closed with or through its partner network. Notable collaborations include an extended partnership with Capgemini, which will establish a dedicated global C3 AI practice, and a thriving relationship with Google Cloud, resulting in 20 jointly closed agreements—an increase of over 180% year-over-year. New alliances with PwC and McKinsey QuantumBlack further underscore this partner-driven growth strategy.

Product innovation remains a core focus, aligning with the explosive growth of the AI infrastructure sector. C3 AI launched C3 Agentic AI Websites in Q2 2025, focusing on enterprise-grade AI applications. The company also successfully converted 15 Generative AI pilots to production, with clients including Dow, Flint Hills Resources, Cargill, Norfolk Iron & Metal, and Florida Crystals. Other significant Generative AI pilot agreements were secured with Boston Scientific, Rolls-Royce, the U.S. Navy, and the National Science Foundation.

C3 AI also introduced the C3 Generative AI Accelerator Program, a three-day workshop designed to expedite the implementation of generative AI solutions. Ben Dubois, Director of Data Analytics at Norfolk Iron & Metal, praised the program: “Additionally, we participated in their first C3 Generative AI Accelerator Program, where our team had the opportunity to develop a generative AI prototype application in just three days. We look forward to continuing to build on everything that was accomplished in our first pilot project.”

Further solidifying its leadership in generative AI, C3 AI was awarded a foundational U.S. patent (US 12,111,859) for generative AI agents. This patent covers key technologies such as the AI Orchestrator, which coordinates multiple AI agents and handles diverse data types; Autonomy, enabling independent operation across business functions; Multimodal Model Integration; Natural Language Summarization; and robust Traceability and Security features, ensuring enterprise access controls and minimal hallucinations.

Despite these positive developments, C3 AI reported a GAAP net loss per share of $(0.52) and a non-GAAP net loss per share of $(0.06), reflecting ongoing investments in research and development and sales initiatives. However, the company maintains a strong cash balance of $730.4 million in cash, cash equivalents, and marketable securities, providing financial flexibility to support future growth.

For the third quarter of fiscal 2025, C3 AI projects total revenue between $95.5 million and $100.5 million, with a non-GAAP loss from operations ranging from $(38.6) million to $(46.6) million. The full-year fiscal 2025 guidance anticipates total revenue between $378.0 million and $398.0 million, and a non-GAAP loss from operations between $(105.0) million and $(135.0) million.
