Bryter Launches Hybrid AI Agents to Revolutionize Legal Workflow Automation

TLDR: Bryter has unveiled its new ‘Hybrid Agents,’ a suite of AI-powered tools designed to enhance efficiency and reliability in legal and compliance tasks. These agents combine advanced generative AI, including GPT-5, with traditional workflow automation to provide precise, controllable, and explainable solutions for high-stakes legal work.

London, August 11, 2025 – Legal technology innovator Bryter today announced the launch of its groundbreaking ‘Hybrid Agents,’ a new category of ready-to-use legal solutions aimed at transforming how legal and compliance professionals manage common tasks. These agents are engineered to merge the power of generative artificial intelligence, notably incorporating OpenAI’s latest GPT-5 system, with the established reliability of workflow automation.

The ‘Hybrid Agents’ are designed to address the critical need for precision, control, and explainability in legal and regulatory tasks, areas where raw AI systems can often fall short. According to Michael Grupp, CEO of Bryter, ‘Even with increasing power, raw AI systems fail to be fully precise, controllable and explainable. Legal and regulatory tasks need a higher degree of precision and predictability. Hybrid Agents bridge this gap.’

These new tools are not an entirely new platform but rather pre-built, customizable templates that integrate AI capabilities with traditional workflow automation. The ‘hybrid’ designation stems from their dual technological approach: GPT-5 handles the ‘smart’ aspects like document reading, context understanding, and content generation, while ‘Workflows’ ensure that approvals are completed and business rules are strictly followed.

Bryter’s spokesperson emphasized that the company launched Hybrid Agents because ‘pure AI tools that set out to do everything at once aren’t reliable enough for high-stakes legal work.’ The agents offer a pre-built solution for some of the most frequently requested tasks that can be automated with AI, providing clear, measurable return on investment (ROI) for legal teams.

The initial suite of Hybrid Agents includes a range of applications such as Commercial Review (for DPAs and NDAs), Lease Review and Report Generation, Claims Processing, Timesheet Review, and Legal Opinion Extraction. Furthermore, these tools can assist lawyers with real estate due diligence, checking data protection compliance, reviewing and correcting invoices, and analyzing contracts against regulatory requirements like the European Union’s Digital Operational Resilience Act (DORA) to identify compliance gaps.

The company stated that these Hybrid Agents will enhance Bryter’s existing core automation platform and amplify its AI Suite, BEAMON, establishing a dual strategy for transformation within legal services.
