The Beacon Centre for the Blind is embarking on an innovative partnership with local AI trainer and PR consultant, Laura Tatton, widely recognized as ‘The AI Lady.’ This collaboration will introduce a series of ‘Lunch and Learn’ AI workshops, designed to equip local businesses and community organizations with the knowledge and confidence to embrace artificial intelligence.
The workshops are scheduled to take place at the Beacon Centre’s Sedgley headquarters, running from September to December. Each session, lasting from 12:30 PM to 2:00 PM on Wednesdays, will offer a practical introduction to AI in a relaxed lunchtime setting. The initiative seeks to cut through the complexities often associated with AI, making its opportunities accessible to a broader audience.
Lisa Cowley, Chief Executive of Beacon Centre, emphasized the importance of this venture, stating, “At Beacon, we know the importance of embracing technology to make life easier and more inclusive. Partnering with Laura to host these AI ‘Lunch and Learn’ sessions gives local organisations the chance to explore AI in a supportive, practical way. Laura Tatton, ‘The AI Lady,’ highlighted the focus on practical application and confidence-building. The workshops are structured to provide actionable insights, moving beyond theoretical concepts to real-world AI applications. One of the key sessions, ‘Prompting Fundamentals,’ will be capped at 20 participants to ensure personalized support, reflecting the commitment to practical, hands-on learning.

Individual sessions are priced at £75.00, with a discounted rate of £200.00 for booking all three sessions. Spaces are limited, and advance booking is required. This collaboration underscores the Beacon Centre’s long-standing commitment to supporting its community, building on its 150-year history of helping individuals in the Black Country and South Staffordshire live well with sight loss.
