Augment Secures $85 Million Series A to Revolutionize Logistics with AI-Powered Assistant ‘Augie’

TLDR: Augment, an AI productivity platform for the logistics sector, has successfully closed an $85 million Series A funding round led by Redpoint, bringing its total capital raised to $110 million within five months. The funding will accelerate the development and adoption of its AI assistant, ‘Augie,’ designed to automate tedious tasks for freight shippers, carriers, and brokers, thereby enhancing efficiency and allowing human operators to focus on high-value activities.

Augment, a pioneering AI productivity platform dedicated to transforming the logistics industry, announced on September 5, 2025, the successful completion of an $85 million Series A funding round. This significant investment, led by Redpoint, with participation from 8VC, Autotech Ventures, and other investors, elevates Augment’s total capital raised to an impressive $110 million in just five months, following a $25 million seed round that preceded its stealth launch.

The substantial capital injection is earmarked to fuel the expansion of Augment’s capabilities, accelerate feature development, and drive broader adoption of its flagship AI assistant, ‘Augie.’ Augie is engineered to tackle the high-volume, manual, and often repetitive tasks that currently burden freight shippers, carriers, and brokers, operating seamlessly across various communication channels including voice, email, Slack, SMS, and Telegram.

Harish Abbott, co-founder and CEO of Augment, a veteran in the logistics space known for building and selling e-commerce shipping startup Deliverr to Shopify for $2.1 billion, highlighted the industry’s archaic nature. Abbott explained that the freight and logistics sector is a vast, fragmented, and complex landscape where professionals often spend their days ‘chasing emails, documents, phone calls, and text messages.’ Augie is designed to function as a ‘personal assistant’ for these workers, liberating them from clerical tasks to concentrate on critical relationships and negotiations.

The impact of Augie is already evident. Customers like Armstrong Transport Group have reported notable productivity gains, including a significant 40% reduction in invoice delays. Jacob Efron, a Managing Director at Redpoint, underscored the positive market reception, noting ‘very positive feedback from Augment’s clients’ and observing that the product is ‘broadly appealing’ with ‘widespread use across operations.’ Investors see Augment as a ‘bigger idea’ that parallels Palantir’s approach to applying AI to solve critical problems, positioning Abbott to ‘build a generational company that brings productivity and intelligence to one of the largest industries in the world.’

Augment’s strategic vision extends beyond its current focus on the trucking sector. The company plans to hire approximately 50 engineers to support its ambitious growth, with aspirations to expand into international shipping and other facets of logistics over time. By automating tasks such as gathering Proof of Delivery documents and streamlining communications, Augie empowers teams to achieve greater efficiency and focus on higher-value work, ultimately reshaping how the global supply chain operates.
