Aston University, in collaboration with Capgemini, recently hosted a significant industry event at its London campus, focusing on the burgeoning adoption of Agentic AI within the Financial Services Industry (FSI). The gathering brought together senior representatives from prominent organizations including Capgemini, Google Cloud, HSBC, Vanguard, and Sarasin & Partners LLP, to delve into the real-world applications and inherent challenges of integrating AI-driven systems.
The event featured a compelling panel discussion titled “Agents of Change: Shaping the Future of Autonomy in FSI.” This session provided deep insights into the practical hurdles faced when implementing advanced AI solutions across the financial sector.
Professor Alexeis Garcia Perez, Director of the Aston-Capgemini Centre of Excellence for Enterprise AI, highlighted the event on social media, emphasizing the discussions around ‘real-world applications of Agentic AI and the challenges of moving from concept to execution.’ He extended gratitude to Capgemini and Google Cloud for their role in hosting the event.
A core theme of the discussion, as articulated by Professor Garcia Perez, was that ‘The biggest barriers to AI adoption are not purely technical. The real enablers for scaling AI solutions are building the right frameworks for governance, trust and validation.
