The platform, officially launched in June 2025, achieved this rapid growth following its public testing phase that commenced in September 2024. This achievement underscores Ant Group’s commitment to leveraging artificial intelligence to enhance healthcare accessibility and efficiency.
AQ is designed to empower users in managing their daily healthcare needs by offering a comprehensive suite of over 100 AI-powered services. These services include personalized doctor recommendations, in-depth medical report analysis, and tailored health advice. The platform also serves as a crucial bridge, connecting users to an extensive network of over 5,000 hospitals, nearly 1 million doctors, and 269 AI Doctor Agents, which have been co-developed with leading physicians in China.
This expansion into healthcare builds upon Ant Group’s decade-long experience in supporting the digital transformation of China’s healthcare sector. Cyril Han, CEO of Ant Group, emphasized the company’s dedication to inclusive technology, stating, ‘In the age of Artificial General Intelligence, Ant Group will focus on AI applications, driving breakthroughs to improve the daily lives for communities.’
The milestone for AQ is a direct result of Ant Group’s ‘AI First’ strategy, initiated in 2023, which prioritizes AI research and development across three core areas: healthcare, finance, and everyday services. The company’s commitment to innovation is further evidenced by its consistent increase in R&D investment, reaching a record high of RMB 23.45 billion (approximately USD 3.26 billion) in 2024, representing a 10.7% year-over-year increase since 2021, as detailed in Ant Group’s 2024 Sustainability Report.
