Anchor Browser Secures $6 Million Seed Funding to Advance Agentic AI Browser Automation

TLDR: Israeli startup Anchor Browser has successfully raised $6 million in a seed funding round. The company aims to revolutionize agentic AI by providing a platform for reliable browser automation, enabling AI agents to perform complex web tasks directly on websites without needing APIs. This funding will fuel R&D expansion and team growth.

Anchor Browser, an innovative Israeli startup also known as Anchor Forge Ltd., has announced the successful closure of a $6 million seed funding round. This significant investment is set to propel the company’s mission to empower the next generation of agentic artificial intelligence through advanced browser automation capabilities. The funding round saw participation from prominent investors including Blumberg Capital, Google’s Gradient Ventures, and Colin Evans from OpenAI, underscoring the industry’s confidence in Anchor’s vision.

Founded in 2024 and headquartered in Tel Aviv, Anchor is developing a groundbreaking platform designed to allow AI agents to autonomously execute a wide array of tasks directly on websites. These tasks include critical business operations such as data entry, order tracking, and form completion, all without the traditional reliance on APIs or custom scripts. This approach is poised to bridge the gap between sophisticated AI capabilities and the vast landscape of existing web systems where much of today’s business processes reside.

Idan Raman, co-founder and chief executive of Anchor, emphasized the critical role of their technology, stating, “Agentic AI is only as useful as its ability to act in the real world, and in today’s enterprise, that means acting on the web.” The company’s flagship solution, b0.dev, is a cloud-based platform capable of automating virtually any action performed within a web browser.

What sets Anchor’s technology apart is its unique methodology. Unlike many other browser automation solutions that abstract interactions by analyzing a webpage’s underlying code, Anchor renders the full visual web environment. This allows its AI agents to interact with websites in a manner akin to human users. Furthermore, Anchor’s agents leverage large language models (LLMs) primarily during the planning stage of a task, rather than for every single execution. This strategic use of AI during planning significantly reduces AI overhead, enabling agents to complete elaborate workflows across various websites with greater efficiency.

The platform boasts robust AI integration, supporting leading LLMs from providers such as OpenAI (including GPT-OSS 120B and Llama 4 models), Google LLC, Anthropic PBC, Groq, and Microsoft Inc.’s Azure. Anchor claims to have already secured paying customers, including emerging startups like Groq and Unify, demonstrating early market validation for its technology.

With the newly acquired capital, Anchor plans to expand its research and development center in Israel and grow its US ad sales team, signaling an aggressive push for product enhancement and market penetration in the rapidly evolving agentic AI landscape.
