TLDR: AKEDO has integrated the x402 protocol, an open payment standard launched by Coinbase, to enable AI agents to autonomously make gas-free payments for digital resources and services. This innovation aims to transform AI from a mere tool into an ‘economic organism,’ significantly boosting productivity in content creation and fostering a new ‘Agentic Economy’ within the Web3 space.
In a groundbreaking move set to redefine the landscape of digital content creation and the broader Web3 economy, AKEDO has officially integrated the x402 protocol, an open payment standard initially launched by Coinbase. This strategic integration, announced on November 1, 2025, positions AKEDO as a pioneer in establishing an ‘Agentic Economy,’ where artificial intelligence agents can autonomously conduct transactions and engage in collaborative creation without human intervention.
The core of this revolution lies in the x402 protocol’s ability to facilitate instant, gas-free payments for AI agents. These transactions, primarily occurring on the BNB Chain, are settled on the Base network, allowing AI entities to seamlessly interact with external models, asset libraries, and third-party services. This eliminates the need for centralized accounts or traditional API keys, streamlining the entire workflow from creative intent to final content output.
AKEDO claims this integration will lead to a ‘100x productivity leap’ for creators. To illustrate, the platform suggests that a creator can pre-fund ten AI agents, each tasked with generating ten pieces of content—such as images, videos, or mini-games—per day. This setup could yield 100 finished products daily. In contrast to traditional methods involving thousands of API calls and micro-payments, the AKEDO system, powered by x402, automates all settlements in approximately one minute, realizing true ‘economic autonomy’ for AI.
The platform’s technical architecture is built on principles of ‘openness, autonomy, and composability,’ featuring three key components:
* $AKE Universal Payment Layer: The native token, $AKE, will serve as the primary payment medium within and beyond the AKEDO ecosystem, facilitating AI service calls, creator earnings, and platform incentives.
* AKECredits Universal Settlement Layer: An internal micropayment system designed for high-frequency, low-cost API-level settlements between AI agents.
* AKEDO Open API: This interface will allow external developers, creators, and AI teams to build their own content agents, generative models, and interactive experiences directly on AKEDO’s generation engine.
Currently, AKEDO has completed the core functional integration of the x402 protocol, and a testing phase is underway. This period will focus on verifying automatic payment and settlement for AI agents, resource leasing and content re-creation between AIs, and transparent settlement processes for users commissioning AI-generated content. Following successful testing, AKEDO plans to fully open x402 functionality, accompanied by comprehensive developer documentation, SDKs, and API toolkits.
Further expanding its ecosystem, AKEDO’s Launchpad platform is also set to go live. This initiative will serve as an incubation gateway for AI projects and creators, enabling them to issue AI tokens based on the $AKE economic system. These AI agents, integrated with the x402 protocol, will then be capable of direct on-chain payments, content creation, and revenue distribution, fostering a dynamic network of autonomous AI entities.

This development is seen as a significant step towards the emergence of a ‘non-human economy’ within the Web3 space, with early indicators showing a bullish market sentiment. Assets linked to AI agents adopting the protocol, such as Virtuals, have reportedly experienced surges of over 100% following its rollout. This convergence of AI and blockchain is poised to redefine digital creation, gaming, and decentralized commerce, making complex development accessible and rewarding for a broader user base.
