The Artificial Intelligence Management and Finance Institute, Nigeria (AIMFIN), under the leadership of its Chairman, Dr. Francis Toromade, is at the forefront of promoting the ethical, inclusive, and responsible integration of Artificial Intelligence (AI) across various sectors. Established as one of only three such associations globally, AIMFIN is committed to empowering individuals, transforming industries, and shaping the future through AI.
Dr. Toromade emphasizes the fundamental role of AI in today’s world, stating, “Artificial Intelligence is no longer optional—it is fundamental. It is reshaping economies, work, governance, and human potential.” He further clarifies AIMFIN’s unique focus: “But at AIMFIN, our focus is not on automation for its own sake. We are committed to harnessing AI for justice, inclusive prosperity, and ethical transformation—building a future where innovation uplifts humanity, not replaces it.”
For many Nigerians, AI remains an abstract concept despite its growing influence. AIMFIN aims to demystify AI, shedding light on its immense benefits and its potential to positively impact the quality of life. The institute defines AI as “a set of technologies that enable computers to perform a variety of advanced functions, including the ability to see, understand and translate spoken and written language, analyse data, make recommendations, and more.”
To actualize its vision, AIMFIN hosted a significant meeting on July 31, 2025, at the Ikeja Airport Hotel in Lagos. This event featured in-depth and thought-provoking lectures on various aspects of AI, with a strong emphasis on promoting and sustaining its ethical values within Nigeria and internationally. The event also included the conferment of doctorate degrees on deserving members and a professorship on Dr. Toromade by Omniversity Imperial College LLC Missouri, USA.
